The massive 2.0 Update for Cyberpunk 2077 completely revamps Night City from the ground up, adding new skills and remixing the gameplay. This is all in preparation for the Phantom Liberty Expansion — and after a few years, we’re ready to dive back in. While exploring the many, many changes in the 2.0 Update, players have discovered an incredible little secret. There’s a Wolfenstein 3D inspired Easter egg hidden out in the middle of the Badlands and completing it in a very specific way will unlock an incredible reward.

By completing the Arasaka Tower 3D mini game following a certain route through the maze and inputting codes on the computer server, Netrunners can unlock a killer Mackinow Monster Truck vehicle. Seriously — a monster truck. We can’t even begin to explain how to solve this Easter egg quest, so if you want to do it yourself, check out the step-by-step process as shared by the datamining experts. Learn how to unlock the Mackinow Monster Truck by playing Arasaka Tower 3D here.

Arasaka Tower 3D | Easter Egg

To find the secret mini game added in Patch 2.0, travel to the Badlands southwest of the city. There’s an abandoned town southwest of Pacifica. If you’ve visited this area before, you’ll find a fast-travel point called the Protein Farm. Travel to the location marked on the map below to discover the arcade cabinet.

In the unmarked and abandoned town, enter the old church. It’s the old building with the steeple in the southeast corner of the map. There’s a garage next to the church and a large server bank inside. To the right of the server console, you’ll find the easter egg arcade cabinet.

The game is called Arasaka Tower 3D. Interacting with the arcade cabinet will begin the mini game. Select ‘Play‘ to begin. The game is all about Johnny Silverhand’s attack on Arasaka Tower — as told through a Wolf 3D inspired PC FPS. You have extremely basic moment (forward, back, left, right) and a starting pistol. Johnny Silverhand (Keanu Reeves himself) is pictured in the portrait at the center of the screen.

The goal is to reach the end of each level before the timer runs out. You have 600 seconds to get as far as you can. You’ll need to sprint through each maze floor with the goal of reaching Level 1. You’ll face off against multiple low-fi enemies, including melee mercenaries in white that take extra hits. On Level 1, if you manage to reach it, you’ll face off against Adam Smasher. Watch out, because he’ll kill you in a single hit.

More Arcade Games

There are more arcade cabinets you can interact with — including the Roach Race. Roach Race and Trauma Drama were added in Patch 1.6. You can find these cabinet at the Kabuki Market in the Watson district. You’ll find them in the Netrunner NPC store on the upper level of the market. This is the store that sells quick hacks. To the left of the counter, you’ll find both Trauma Drama and Roach Race.

Trauma Drama: In this Contra side-scroller, you’ll fight through gang goons, shooting through swarms of enemies and rescuing civilians as a Trauma Team trooper. When you rescue civilians, you’ll earn a bonus weapon that you can swap between like Contra. Very cute. Reach the end of levels and save all the civilians while defeating all the enemies on the final screen to complete the stage. There are multiple levels with different enemies, bosses and series of weapons you can enhance by collecting doubles.

Roach Race: In this reference to The Witcher franchise, Geralt’s trusty horse Roach is on the run. This is an autoscroller — you’ll need to jump over holes and giant monsters while collecting Roach’s favorite foods. Geralt himself even make a pixel appearance in the game’s intro. You can even triple jump — your rechargeable ‘glitch’ gives Roach the ability to teleport instantly to the ground. This move takes time to recharge, so use it wisely to get a high score.

These weird arcade games aren’t exactly worth spending time on, but they’re a fun diversion for Easter egg hunters — and with an additional, even more elaborate game to play, we’re hoping for even more Easter eggs to uncover in the Phantom Liberty DLC.
