Jump, roll, and climb into Chapter 6 Season 1
Here are all the details on the new movement mechanics in Fortnite.
Ledge Jump
Jump while sprinting very close to a ledge, cliff or a rooftop, and you’ll perform what is being dubbed a Ledge Jump. Ledge Jumps will send you farther, allowing you to reach places you normally wouldn’t be able to by performing a regular jump. When you hit a Ledge Jump with some speed, you’ll gain a significant amount of hang time.
Roll Landing
Holding Jump or tapping it right before hitting the ground while falling will cause you to do a barrel roll, restoring some stamina in the process.
Wall Kick
Jumping against a vertical surface to your side while in the air will allow you to perform a Wall Kick. Wall Kicks will launch you off of walls in any direction that you choose. Once mastered, you’ll be able to integrate Wall Kicks into your movement system to keep your opponents on their toes during combat. It’s possible to mantle, hit a Roll Landing, or even perform another Wall Kick off of a Wall Kick.
Wall Scramble
Jumping against a vertical surface in front of you will allow you to perform a Wall Scramble. Reach new heights by taking a few big strides up a wall. If it’s a surface that you can mantle, you’ll mantle up automatically. Press Jump at any point while doing a Wall Scramble to perform a Wall Kick.
Whether you’re playing Fortnite Reload, Creative Islands, or battle royale modes, all the new movement mechanics listed above will apply to those core playlists.
