Eliminate “Cinder” Carla Walkthrough In Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon
NOTE: THIS IS A DECISION MISSION. IF YOU SELECT THIS MISSION, YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO PLAY MISSION 37-A: INTERCEPT THE CORPORATE FORCES UNTIL NEW GAME+. THIS MISSION WILL ALSO LOCK YOU INTO THE LIBERATOR OF RIBICON ENDING.
When you start the mission, The Arqebus Group has already arrived at the Flying City of Xylem. You are free to attack both Arqebus soldiers and Carla’s mechs as you make your way through the City. Follow your objective marker until you find V.II Snail. You will need to defeat this AC to collect his Platinum Combat Log.
Snail’s AC, OPEN FAITH, uses the VP-66EG Stun Gun and the VE-67LLA Laser Lance as his Arms weapons along with the Vvc-70VPM Plasma Missile Launcher and VE-60SNA Stun Needle Launcher as its Back Units. This combo of weapons aims to keep pressure on you and build your Electric Discharge ACS Anomaly, which will cause unavoidable electric damage. The Plasma Missile Launcher has strong tracking and can do a decent amount of damage to your ACS and can keep pressure on your stun meter while the Stun Needle Launcher and Stun Gun will quickly build your Electric Discharge and can deal sudden damage to both your health and ACS. When you are stunned, he will be able to do heavy damage to you with his Laser Lance. Even when you aren’t staggered, Snail will attempt to lunge at you with the lance to close the distance between the two of you.
As you learn how to avoid his attacks, you will need to approach this fight the same way you do for other AC pilots and focus on his ACS meter. When Snail is staggered, you can do massive Direct Hit damage that will make quick work of the smug leader. You will get a Platinum Combat Log when you defeat V.II Snail.
Continue to follow the blue objective marker and you will enter a building. As you make your way through a door that leads to a tunnel, the partition will drop, locking you inside as a group of drones and MTs attack. While Ayre will say she will get the doors open, what you actually need to do is destroy all of the enemies in the room to progress. These are easy enemies to destroy but be aware of the yellow gas that some of them emanate since standing in the cloud will build your Electric Discharge ACS Anomaly bar and will deal unavoidable damage if the meter fills.
Once you clear out all of the enemies the door is opened, continue to follow the objective marker. Eventually, you will find your target “Cinder” Carla and her trusted assistant, “Chatty” Stick in their ACs ready for a battle to the death. You will need to defeat both AC pilots to complete the mission.
The duo of “Cinder” Carla and “Chatty” Stick work together to keep pressure on you from different directions. Both of them only use explosive weapons, making them hit very hard The two ACs will try to stay separate from one another to attack you from multiple directions. Carla dual-wields WS-5000 APERITIF Siege Missile Launcher in both its Arms and uses two WS-5001 SOUP Scatter Missile Launchers on each of its shoulders. Meanwhile, “Chatty” uses the BML-F1/P07VTC-12 Vertical Missile Launcher, the WR-0999 DELIVERY BOY Cluster Missile Launcher IRIDIUM Grenade Launcher, and the LITTLE GEM Bazooka.
The two ACs won’t stay together as Chatty will stay on the second level and provide fire support as Carla attempts to rush you down. The best way to deal with these two is to use the environment to isolate one of them from the other and destroy them as quickly as possible. There are several pillars around the area that give you the chance to battle Carla in a position where Chatty’s missiles can’t hit you. Meanwhile, rushing to the top floor and engaging Chatty can give you a chance to deal massive damage since he doesn’t have too much health, making it easier to deal with Carla 1-on-1. Once both ACs are destroyed, you will gain a Gold Combat Log from Chatty and a Platinum Combat Log from Carla. While it would seem that you have now taken control of Xylem, Carla’s final failsafe has locked you out of controlling the flying city, putting it on a permanent collision course with the Vascular Plant.
Once “Chatty” Stick and “Cinder” Carla are both destroyed, Mission 37-B: Eliminate “Cinder” Carla will be complete!
