Dead Space Remake is a loving recreation of the 2008 survival horror classic. Carried over from the original are the Logs, a type of collectible that can come in multiple forms with some steering you down the game’s main story path while others provide some lore and backstory to the events of the game and both major and minor characters. There are a total of 188 logs with two Achievements tied to them, one for collecting 75 logs called Story Teller and the other for collecting 150 logs called Legend Teller. This guide will show players where to find all of the log collectibles in Chapter 3: Course Correction in the Dead Space Remake.
After going through Medical and seeing just how badly the USG Ishimura has been hit by the necromorph scourge, Hammond tells Isaac to head to Engineering to restart the ship’s engine so that it doesn’t fall from orbit and crash into Aegis VII. This guide will break down where to find all of the logs in Chapter 3: Course Correction of the Dead Space Remake.

All Chapter 3 Logs in Dead Space Remake
There are three types of logs you can find in Dead Space Remake: Collectible Logs found throughout the Ishimura in both Audio and Text form, Story Logs that will play at certain points in the game that are unmissable when your team or fellow survivors contact you, and what I’m going to call Action Logs that are very missable as they will only play when specific actions are taken at specific points in the game and unable to be attained if missed unless loading an earlier save or going into New Game Plus.
This guide will mark Story and Action Logs so you know when a log is either missable or unmissable. All Collectible Logs can be collected at any point of the game before the Point of No Return in Chapter 11: Alternate Solutions, so if you miss any of these don’t worry. You can still go back and get them as long as you aren’t at the game’s final chapter. Chapter 3: Course Correction of Dead Space Remake contains a total of 15 logs: 7 Story Logs, No Action Logs, and 8 Collectible Logs.
Log #1: It’s Mine
Located right at the start of the Chapter while in the Hanger Bay before you go through the open blast door and into the vacuum of space. It is between the two walkways that ships can dock and can be flown to or grabbed with Kinesis. This is where you were able to find the Peng Treasure item in the original game but now there is a log here that hints towards the item’s new location.
Log #2: Growth
As soon as you enter Engineering, head to the dead-end hallway shown on the map below on the sixth floor of the area to find this text log.
Log #3: Temple’s Log 01
Once you reach the engine Control Room, you can find this audio log on a chair to the left of the Kiosk Shop.
Log #4: Engine Diagnostics
Unmissable log. Will play once you interact with the Engine Controls and get a damage report.
Log #5: His Own Teeth
Go through the door to the right of the Engine Controls and make your way to the Machine Shop at the bottom of some stairs. Go through the door right in front of you at the bottom of the stairs to enter a bathroom. At the entrance is a Security Terminal you can interact with to get this log.
Log #6: Temple’s Log 02
When refueling the engine of the Ishimura, you will travel between a North and South Refueling Station. Head to the South Refueling Station by traveling across the gap on a moving platform. You can find a locker on its side at the location shown on the map below as well as this audio log.
Log #7: Kendra is Alive
Unmissable Log. Will play once you collect the Fuel Station key item.
Log #8: Engines are Refueled
Unmissable log. Hammond calls you when both the North and South Engines have been refueled.
Log #9: Chaos
On your way to the Centrifuge, you will need to enter a Decontamination Chamber. Right before you do that, go to the left of the door and go around the corner to find a broken open locker with a text log inside.
Log #10: Rig Transcript
Make your way through the long curved hallway towards the entrance of the centrifuge chamber. Right before going around the final corner to the door, pick up this text log sitting on the ground.
Log #11: Centrifuge is Online
Unmissable log. Plays once the centrifuge is back online and operational.
Log #12: They Found an Artifact
Unmissable log. Will play as you make your way to the Engine Room when you enter the zero gravity room where you need to reroute power from the spinning fans to the doors.
Log #13: Temple’s Log 03
Progress to Fuel Storage. After squeezing through necromorph tissue covering the walls, go through the door to the left of the elevator to find this audio log on a small table.
Log #14: Go to the Bridge
Unmissable log. Plays once the engine is back online.
Log #15: Nicole?
Unmissable log. Plays immediately after the previous log finishes.
With all of that found, you now have all of the collectibles in Chapter 3: Course Correction in the Dead Space Remake. You can now continue to Chapter 4: Obliteration Imminent.
