River City Girls 2 carries over a mechanic from its predecessor where weakened enemies can be brought onto your team and used as assists to help extend combos or get yourself out of sticky situations. These recruitable enemies are appropriately called Recruits and the game has a large list of enemies that can become allies and can be accessed in any Safe Room. While there are many different Recruits that you can get while fighting enemies across the city, there is a collection of special Recruits that cost money to have them join your team. These Mercenaries can be found at certain spots of the City, with some requiring the completion of specific tasks and quests or finding a set of collectibles to unlock for your use. This guide will provide players with the full list of hirable Mercenaries in River City Girls 2.
Full Mercenaries List In River City Girls 2
There are 12 Mercenaries that are unlocked during the course of the game. Each of these characters costs money to hire with some also requiring certain side quests to be completed during the game. Below is a full breakdown of how to unlock as well as where to find and hire each of the Mercenaries.
Paul
Paul is the first Mercenary that you will come across in the game. in Crosstown, you will meet Paul outside the Mall on your way to the first boss of the game, Ken. You will find him in the area called Mall Entrance. You will be forced to interact with him during the course of the game’s main quest. Talking to him will allow you to hire him.
Wes
Wes is a character that was introduced in River City Ransom Underground as a playable character, Wes is found in the area appropriately named Wes’ Nightclub in Uptown. This is the Nightclub that you gain access to after completing a quest for Mibobo. You will find Wes at the bar in the top righthand part of the club.
Chris
Chris also appears in River City Ransom Underground and is Provie’s best friend. She is also found in the Crosstown region in the Capitol Avenue area where you find Kyoko’s house (where the game starts). After you defeat Provie in Uptown, Chris will become hirable. Go all the way to the left of this area to find Chris next to the Training Dojo.
Abobo
A recurring boss in the series, Abobo can be found in Abobo’s Apartment on the top floor of the apartment complex in the Downtown region. Once you complete Mibobo’s quest in Uptown and gain access to Technos by getting past Jack, both of those characters will go to Abobo’s Apartment and will make Abobo available to be hired.
Berserker
Berserker can be found in the Amusement Park area of Flatirons.
Hibari
A boss in the original River City Girls, Hibari can become a hirable Recruit after completing her quest in Ocean Heights which is necessary for gaining access to Primo’s Restaurant. After completing her quest, you can find her in the Shipyard area.
Ryan
A character that takes on the classic game look, Ryan is unlocked by picking up the first cassette tape in one of the game’s Secret Areas. You can find Gameranx’s guide on where to find all of the Secret Area locations linked here. You will find Ryan in the Downtown region in the Dog Park location.
Alex
Just like Ryan, Alex is unlocked by finding the second cassette tape located in the game’s Secret Areas. You will find Alex in the Crosstown region in the Capitol Avenue Bridge location next to the cement divider on the bridge to the right of the area.
NOIZE
NOIZE is a boss from the first River City Girls that you can hire after finding the sixth cassette tape found in the Secret Areas. Once unlocked, you can find her in the Recreation Room in Technos.
Kebako
Once you get all 7 cassette tapes from every Secret Area, you will unlock Kebako, the lead character of fellow WayForward game Cat Girl Without Salad: Amuse-Bouche. She can be found in Crosstown in the Memory Field area which is unlocked when the character becomes available.
Jam Kuradoberi
A cameo from Arc System Works’ Guilty Gear fighting game series, Jam Kuradoberibecomes available in New Game+ after collecting 6 Gear collectibles. You can find Gameranx’s guide on where to find all of the Gear locations linked here. Once you find these Gears, Jam can then be found in Yokocho in the Uptown region.
Sol Badguy
The leading man of Guilty Gear, Sol Badguy also becomes available in New Game+, being unlocked after collecting all 12 Gear collectibles. Sol is found in the Beach Plaza area of Ocean Heights.
