Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus – How To Farm Enigma Codes & Max Perks

October 30, 2017 by Kevin Thielenhaus

If you’re low on Enigma Codes or want to max out your perks faster, here’s an easy method to get an infinite supply of codes and kills.

Late in the game, BJ and his friendly band of Nazi-fighting rebels will unlock the war map. This is where you’ll take your first steps into the side-missions and optional content of Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. These missions are available post-game too, where you’ll be able to get most of your side-questing completed with a full set of kill list targets.

There’s just one problem — you need Enigma Codes to unlock new assassination missions. Even if you collect codes off every single commander you kill, you won’t have enough Enigma Codes. Thankfully, there’s an easy way to farm Enigma Codes fast — and you can use this same trick to farm perks easily.

How To Farm Enigma Codes & Max Perks

Enigma Codes are items you can collect from dead commanders — the targets that appear in stealth sections of the game. To unlock Ubercommander assassination missions, you’ll need to collect and expend several of these collectibles in the Enigma Machine. There’s never enough Enigma Codes to go around, and if you want to quickly and easily stock up on codes, here’s what you’ll want to do.

  • How To Get Enigma Codes Fast
    1. On the war map, select the Manhattan, Penthouse District assassination mission.
      • Unlock it if you haven’t already.
    2. Open the Options Menu -> Gameplay and select the lowest difficulty setting.
    3. Complete the mission once, and on every return trip, you’ll find two commanders. That means two Enigma Codes per run.
    4. On the lowest difficulty, you don’t have to worry about damage. Drop down and kill the first sitting commander, then drop into the ruined area below and kill the second. Loot both.
    5. After looting the second commander, open your map and press [Square / X] to exit the map instantly.
    6. Rinse and repeat to quickly get enough Enigma Codes.

You can repeat missions as often as you like. This is the smallest mission available, with two commanders that are very close together. Ignore the enemies, you don’t need to kill anyone else. Just sprint straight to the commanders, kill them, loot them and exit.

This method is also perfect for maxing out all your perks if you’re looking for 100% completion. Just lower the difficulty, complete some stealth or combat kills, then exit and repeat. You can raise your difficulty later with no penalty.

There’s a reason you’ll want to complete all the Ubercommander side-missions — there’s a totally new level at the end of the path.
