If your goal is to collect all the items in The Surge you’ll need to hunt down all the Dr. Murphy audio logs. There is a total of nine audio logs within the game and they are spread out through a variety of areas. Here are the locations of each of the nine which are split between the Research and Development area along with the Nucleus area.

Log #1 “Dr. Lawrence Murphy, Log #2” – Research and Development
The first audio log is known as “Dr. Lawrence Murphy, Log #2” can be found right near the medical bay laying on the floor.
Log #2 “Dr. Lawrence Murphy, Log #1” – Research and Development
The second log which is known as in the Unmapped Area will be at a Contact Station. However, you will have to defeat an LYNX and Proteus to reach the area.
Log #3 “Dr. Lawrence Murphy, Log #14” – Research and Development
Note: Security Rig Required
Within the Restricted Utopia Project area, you’ll come across a security door. It’s required that you have a Security Rig in order to gain access through the door. Once entered, you’ll find a Contact Station which will have the third audio log.
Log #4 “Dr. Lawrence Murphy, Log #17” – Research and Development
After you obtained the third audio log, head to the next Contact Station to receive the fourth audio log.
Log #5 “Dr. Lawrence Murphy, Log #5” – Nucleus
Near the medical bay on the first floor, head up the flight of stairs and you’ll come across “Dr. Lwrence Murphy, Log # 5” next to a deceased body.
Log #6 “Dr. Lawrence Murphy, Log #11” – Nucleus
The “Dr. Lawrence Murphy, Log #11” is found near the fifth audio log. Head into the room next to the deceased body which will take you to the Refueling floor where you’ll find the sixth audio log laying on the ground.
Log #7 “Dr. Lawrence Murphy, Log #8” – Nucleus
The seventh audio log is found in a tunnel system within the Nitrogen Pump Station of the Nucleus area.
Log #8 “Dr. Lawrence Murphy, Log #6” – Nucleus
Much like the sixth audio log, the eighth audio log in our list can be found in the Refueling floor, but this time it will be near an Exo-Suit lift.
Log #9 “Dr. Lawrence Murphy, Log #23” – Nucleus
You’ll find the last audio log for Dr. Lawrence Murphy within the Utopia Preparation Classified area. It will be laying near a ledge of wreckage.
