Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is packed with side quests, but you won’t really find tons of alternate quests until you reach Kakariko Village, the first true town in the game. Here, you’ll meet villagers and visit shops between unlocking new mini-quests to complete. There are lots of jobs to do in Kakariko, and most of them don’t give you much back in return.
“Flown the Coop” is just one of the quests, but it’s also one you’ll need to complete if you want to unlock the final Shrine in the East Necluda Region. Completing this quest is essential for unlocking “The Stolen Heirloom” and resolving Impa’s story. It’s also a little tricky — you’ll need to find seven hidden cuccos. We’ve got the locations below.
Flown the Coop | Side Quest Guide
Start this side quest by talking to the man across from the armor shop in Kakariko Village. He’s standing beside the stable that’s conspicuously absent of chickens.
Talk to him to begin “Flown the Coop” — you’ll need to find seven of his missing chickens. They’re scattered all across the village. When you find a cucco, pick it up with [A] and take it to the pen. Place it inside!
Holding onto a cucco is kind of like using a paraglider. You’ll float all the way down if you jump off a high ledge or rooftop!
