Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – Headshots Only Mode Explained

June 24, 2024 by Lauren Sayles

Does what it says on the tin.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 4 has been action packed from the get-go. From new multiplayer maps, to weapons, killstreaks, and so much more, there’s plenty to do in multiplayer and battle royale modes. As always, there will be a mid-season update to keep the game fresh and fans coming back for more. This will be done with the debut of new modes that switch up the dynamic of your matches. Headshots Only is one of those modes that will do just that in MW3, so do you have what it takes?

Already, you may be able to guess what the Headshots Only mode involves. It doesn’t exactly leave much up to the imagination. It’s set to be a true test of skill and if you’re up for the challenge, this guide has got all the details you need to know ahead of its launch.

How to play Headshots Only in MW3

Utilizing Team Deathmatch ruleset, this mode is only played on a select few small maps. As the name suggests, only headshots count when eliminating other players. No damage is dealt, and there will be no team score progression unless you hit an opponent’s head.

With headshots being the only option, lethals such as Throwing Knives or Stars can only deal damage if they hit the head. Grenades are only effective if they damage the head, too. Make sure you have a loadout that is accurate and hard-hitting, such as the MCW assault rifle, for example. If you want to perfect your sniper shot, this playlist can put your one-shot headshot skills to the test.

Hop into the Headshots Only mode during MW3 Season 4 Reloaded which will begin on June 26, 2024. The update will be available to download on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
