Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 – Will Your Skins Carry Forward?

June 18, 2024 by Lauren Sayles

Turning a new leaf.

The recent Call of Duty Direct saw the teams over at Treyarch and Raven Software give fans a first look at Black Ops 6. A range of details were shared about the campaign and key multiplayer features were shown off for the very first time. There’s a lot for Call of Duty fans to look forward to, with more announcements to come at the upcoming Call of Duty Next event. Owners of Modern Warfare 3 may want to know if skins will carry over to Black Ops 6.

Most recently, the release of Modern Warfare 3 saw Modern Warfare 2 Operators, camos, and even weapons carried over to the latest entry in the series. If you’re wondering whether or not the same will occur when Black Ops 6 becomes playable, we’ve got the answers.

The beginning of a new era

Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 content will not carry forward to the Black Ops 6. The only exception is the Woods Operator Pack which is obtained through placing a pre-order of the Vault Edition. This is available to equip in Modern Warfare 3 and then Black Ops 6 at launch.

However, this only applies to multiplayer, as carry forward content for Warzone will continue, with Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, and Black Ops 6 content being integrated with the battle royale with the arrival of Season 1.

When you first begin playing Black Ops 6 multiplayer, you’ll only have access to default Operator skins (unless you have the Woods Operator pack.) Therefore, you’ll have to earn skins through the battle pass or purchase them from the in-game store.

Of course, if you hop into Warzone or continue to play Modern Warfare 3, you’ll still have access to your cosmetics in those games.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will hit PlayStation, Xbox, and PC storefronts on October 25, 2024.
