Aren’t feeling the arena structure of DOOM? Try Tormented Souls, a quick campaign that feels more like Duke Nukem 3D — there are light puzzles to solve, rooms to clear of enemies, and plenty of exploration. You can also enjoy the campaign with up to four coop players online.

You won’t confuse this map for a level in the main game. Instead of only using pre-made rooms, this campaign features plenty of painstakingly constructed custom geometry. There are par times, life pools, and a very limited selection of weapons. This is an old-school style campaign in every sense of the word, and the way forward isn’t always clear. Beware of traps!

Because this is DOOM, you’ll begin in UAC Facilities before moving on to more hellish environments. That’s a common theme in maps. Don’t worry — the puzzle don’t get too crazy, but there are some real platforming challenges. If you’re looking for more than a combat challenge, give these quality maps a whirl.
