Debates are back in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and if you want to know the exact formula for ‘winning’ the encounter with Talos Rucker in Mission 7, then look no further.
Conversations are an important part of the game, letting Adam Jensen bypass challenges or earn extra rewards if he’s got the right stuff to say. Using the C.A.S.I.E. mod augmentation helps too. If you don’t spend Praxis points on the social upgrade, completing conversations becomes much trickier.
Without the augmentation, you get no feedback or clues for your responses — basically, it’s luck-of-the-draw. Between Technology & the Divine – Achievement / Trophy Guide
Talos Rucker is encountered in Mission 7 — once you reach his office, you’ll enter a long cutscene. The debate has four stages, and to win Adam Jensen must select a series of very specific responses.
Use these responses, in order, to win the Talos Rucker debate:
- Response #1: Turn Tables
- Response #2: Patronize
- Response #3: Justify
- Response #4: Turn Tables
Follow that order, and the achievement / trophy is your’s. You also get the satisfaction of defeating an opponent with your words. Not a bad day’s work.
Talos Rucker is the faction leader of A.R.C. — the Augmented Rights Coalition, and commands an army of (relatively) low-tech soldiers. You’ll encounter the faction often in your adventures to the seedier corners of the city, and Talos Rucker won’t easily flinch when confronted. He won’t concede in the debate unless you follow the steps listed above exactly.
