It’s hard to believe that Fortnite is already seven years old. The game has significantly evolved its battle royale modes over the years, while broadening its horizons to provide new experiences. Fans can celebrate Fortnite’s anniversary in style with free cosmetics that are tied to a special set of birthday quests.
As expected, the update has taken various birthday items out of the vault and unleashed them into the Chapter 5 Season 4 loot pool. Birthday Presents are back and packed with loot. Additionally, expect to find the Firework Flare Gun to mark opponents, Balloons to put a little prep in your step, and a Birthday Cake consumable to replenish shield.

Fortnite enters its seventh year
Here are all the quest available to complete to mark the occasion.
- Wish the bus driver a Happy Birthday (7) – 20,000 XP
- Throw Birthday Presents or open chests (7) – 20,000 XP
- Travel distance while airborne with Balloons from Birthday Medallions (777) – 20,000 XP
- Eat slices of Birthday Cake (7) – 20,000 XP
- Release or pop Balloons (7) – 20,000 XP
- Reveal players by setting off fireworks with the Flare Gun (7) – 20,000 XP
Every challenge is straightforward and shouldn’t cause you too many problems. They may be time consuming, however, since you’ll have to play at least seven matches to wish the bus driver a Happy Birthday, for example.
Although individual quests grant XP rewards, completing multiple will seE you unlock birthday-themed cosmetics.
- Complete 1 Birthday Quest – Birthday Bud Spray
- Complete 3 Birthday Quests – Cake Clobberer Pickaxe
- Complete 5 Birthday Quests – Sprinkly Space Cake Back Bling
The birthday rewards are similar to previous years, with the main difference being that the back bling and pickaxe are decorated with galaxy visuals.
The celebrations end on October 1, 2024, so make sure to earn your cosmetics before the questline expires for another year.
