Take your first steps into the creepy, undead-infested Police Station in our first walkthrough (of four) showing you how to complete Resident Evil 2 Remake in the quickest way possible. Below, we’re breaking down the objectives and steps you need to take to conquer the game, listing each step in bullet points to make your journey easier. You’ll find key item locations and puzzle solutions — we won’t discuss healing items or ammo, but we will explain where to get items you absolutely need. Like new guns.

The start of our walkthrough covers the entire Police Station section leading up to the very first boss battle. This is all about finding three hidden medallions — the medallions are located inside statues. Input the correct code, and you’ll get the medallion. Finding (and reaching) all three medallions isn’t as easy as it sounds. The Police Station is a labyrinth of locked doors. If you’re lost or need a little help, scan through the guide below. This is a low-spoilers guide, so it just contains the essential steps you need to solve each area.

Leon A-Scenario Walkthrough | Police Station [1/4]

This is a quick speedrun guide — breaking down only the most important info you need to complete each section of the game, in the shortest and most efficient way possible.

Reach the RPD Building, and interact with the computer [F1 Main Hall]. Go “Investigate the East Side” and enter [F1 Break Room] to acquire the [Officer’s Notebook].
- The [Officer’s Notebook] contains the three Statue codes. You’ll need to find all three Medallions and input the medallions into the Goddess Statue [F1 Main Hall].
Cut open the locked switch box with the [Combat Knife] to access [1F Reception].
- Collect [Police Station 1F Map] in [F1 Operations Room].
Go to the [1F West Office] and unlock the safe / dial locks.
- Dial Locks: [NED] and [MRG] to get the [High-Capacity Mag] for the Matilda.
- Safe Code: [9-15-7] to get a [Hip Pouch].
Go to [3F Stairwell] above [1F Dark Room] to get the [Spade Key].
- Get a [Hip Pouch] from [3F West Storage Room].
- Get the [Red Book] from [2F Library].
Solve the Lion Statue puzzle to get the [Lion Medallion] in [2F Main Hall].
- Solution: Lion, Leaf, Eagle
Solve the Unicorn Statue puzzle to get the [Unicorn Medallion] in [2F Lounge].
- Solution: Double Fish, Scorpion, Water Pot
- Go to the [2F Lounge] and get the [Police Station 2F Map].
Unlock the [Spade Door] in the [2F Waiting Room].
- Go to the [2F Art Room] — combine [Statue Left Arm] and [Red Book], then add to the King Statue to gain the [Scepter]. Examine to get the [Ruby].
- Get the [Weapons Locker Keycard] from the [2F Art Room]. It unlocks the [Shotgun] in the [1F Safe Deposit Room].
Go to the [1F Fire Escape] and collect the [Cutting Tool]. Use it to cut the door lock, and cut open [1F East Office].
In [1F East Office], collect the [Electrical Part] and the [Round Handle].
- Use the [Electrical Part / Fuse] to open the door to the [1F Main Hall].
Use the [Round Handle] in the [2F Shower Room] to access the [STARS Office].
- Get the [Portable Safe] in the [2F Shower Room] and open it to get the first [Spare Part] for the terminal in [1F Safe Deposit Room].
- Collect the [Battery] from [2F STARS Office]. Place it in the [Electronic Gadget] in the unnamed room between [1F Operations Room] and [1F Records Room]. Use the [Cutting Tool] to enter.
Place the [Electronic Gadget] + [Battery] on the Explosive Barricade in the [3F West Storage Room].
Solve the Maiden Statue puzzle to get the [Maiden Medallion] past the Explosive Barricade.
- Solution: Maiden Head, Bow, Worm
Place all three [Medallions] into the slot under the Goddess Statue in [1F Main Hall].

Go downstairs into the Secret Room, take the elevator down, and you’ll encounter G [Stage 1] — the first boss of the game. After defeating the boss, you’ll move on to the second part of Leon’s campaign — RPD Revisited.
