Where to Start Tulin of Rito Village In Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
If it wasn’t apparent, you will need to head to Rito Village to start this quest. The Regional Phenomena quest-line will send you here. Once you’ve arrived you’ll meet the Rito Tulin right before he flies off. Time to track that adolescent down.
The quest marker will then point you to the Hebra Trailhead Lodge. Here you talk to Hark, who will tell you Tulin headed to the Hebra South Summit Cave. Go outside and use the ladder that is around the cornerto ascend up up the mountain trail. Follow the main path until you see a bright fire that lights up the entrance to the cave.
Hebra South Summit Cave Walkthrough
The Hebra South Summit cave is full of thorns. If you’ve played Breath of the Wild, you know these can be destroyed with fire. Proceed through the linear cave until you reach a frozen pond. These icy patches can be broken if you attack or jump on them. We recommend the jumping method. It takes four stomps to break the ice.
Breaking the ice will reveal that it was blocking an updraft. Now you can paraglide up this cavern. On the next level you will find some enemies and ore deposits you can mine for luminous stone. Eventually you will wind up at another dead end you need to climb.
Look up and you’ll see thorns blocking your path upwards. We used Fire Fruit arrows to clear a path before ascending up and out of the cave. At the exit, there will be a Rito waiting to tell you that Tulin flew off towards the lone cedar tree at the top of the hill. Simply look upwards to see that the spot he means is not too far out.

How to Get to Rising Island Chain In Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Once you’ve reunited with Tulin, you will first be tasked with taking out an aerocuda to get his stolen bow back. This will teach you how to use Tulin’s gusts. These horizontal bursts of air will let you travel further than normal in the air. They will be incredibly helpful in getting up to and through the Rising Island Chain.
Climb the mountain using a combination of Tulin’s ability and Link’s Ascend. Once you reach the peak you will be greet by another Rito. From here you can start climbing on the floating platforms that make up the first part of the Rising Island Chain.
Rising Island Chain Walkthrough
Getting from one platform to another won’t be that tricky if you use Tulin’s gusts of air in conjunction with Ascend. Some platforms will require you to stack boxes in order to get high enough to Ascend to the platform above.
Once you’ve climbed high enough a cutscene will play where Tulin points out the boats above you. The first of these boats is right ahead of you. These will act like a trampoline that will launch Link into the air. Use this first one to send yourself up to the visible Shrine. Activate the Mayaumekis Shrine — you’ll need it as a teleport point in case you fall off the island. This is only one of two Shrines in this whole area and it will be a while until another, so this is your best checkpoint next to loading your save. In fact, we often found loading the most recent autosave the fastest way to correct for a missed bit of platforming.
In the next section, you will be largely using the same tools as before to continue reaching higher platforms — namely help from your Rito friend. However, there will be a number of Construct enemies here that will stand in your way. If you have a lightning weapon or arrows, this would be a great time to use them.
Move from chunk to chunk, until you’ve reached a Construct guarding a chest containing 3 portable pots . Look at the pillar to the right of the chest sure to use fire to uncover entrances blocked by icicles. Once inside this crevice, use Ascend to get to the top of the pillar.
Tulin will help you get to the next set of islands. Below you is a Flux Construct mini-boss. Ignore it for now and break the giant ice patch that’s hiding a boat. You will repeat this pattern of breaking the ice and using the trampoline-like boats until you reach a small cave, with some food and a fire to cook anything you might need going into the first dungeon. That’s right, we are close now.
Move to the next island. You can take out the Constructs if you want or you can sprint across the bridge to the next section. The bridge will fall in sections so no enemies will be able to chase you. After the next batch of enemies you will see a set of stairs.
Up the stairs, there will be the makings of a hot air balloon. You can assemble one if you like to reach the next island, or you can simply build a fire using flint and wood. We intensified the fire using a Hylian Pine Cone and created an updraft that carried us all the way to the top.
Continue to climb and break the ice on the next platform to reveal a boat. Now that you’ve reached a higher altitude, you will need more Cold Resistance, either by way of at least two pieces of cold resistant armor or cold resistance food paired with one piece of armor. Activate the Shrine nearby as a fast travel point before getting into the final section.
This bit is entirely using boat trampolines — there are no longer platforms. Use Tulin’s gust to navigate from one to another. Eventually they will be rotating around the storm, so you will need to time your landings. However, landing on a trampoline puts Link back at full stamina, so make good use of that. As long as you keep landing you will find a way up to the eye of the storm.
Now, all you need to is use the trampoline you are on bounce up above the storm and descend down to reach Wind Temple at last.
