Main Quest 4: Mother’s Heart
To begin this quest, meet up with and talk to Rost near Mother’s Heart. After the cutscene, enter Mother’s Heart. After a brief cutscene, follow the marker to find an “Old Friend,” once you arrive, talk to them. There are lots of people here to interact with, so take a minute to listen to their stories and antics. I would recommend checking out the drunk guy climbing houses in the back of the village.
It’s Teb, who you saved back in the second mission when you were still a child. He gives you a new outfit that can be upgraded for saving his life. Take a second to add any weave modifications you might have been saving for clothing upgrades, they can come in handy when times get tough.
After meeting with Teb, head up to the Matriach’s lodge by following the marker. Upon arriving, a cutscene will play. Aloy will notice something strange about a man in the crowd, walk over to him once your scanner activates. Talk to him to trigger another cutscene (there are many in this mission).
After the cutscene, follow your marker again to the blessing. Once you arrive, approach Mother Teersa to trigger another cutscene. After the cutscene, you have two objectives: either enter the lodge or talk to Olin. Talking to Olin is optional, but you’ll miss this opportunity if you simply go straight to the lodge. After talking to Olin, head to the lodge to trigger another cutscene. Once inside, talk to Bast. Afterwards, you have another choice: talk to Vala, or head to bed. Have a quick chat with Vala, then get some rest, the proving will be your hardest task yet.
