Pokémon Go: Magnetic Study Event Schedule and Rewards

Three days of electric Pokémon.

October is a busy month for Pokémon Go fans. Already, the Daily PokeCoin Bounty Part 2 ticket has kicked off, while a Mega Mawile Raid Day and Magnetic Study event are also on the horizon. The team behind the hit mobile game has shared more details about the Magnetic Study event in Pokémon Go, from Timed Research to event bonuses.

The Magnetic Study event runs from Tuesday, October 15, at 12:00am to Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 11:59pm local time. During that time, you’ll be able to bank yourself an array of rewards, with the most sought after being encounters with featured Pokémon.

Event bonuses

The following bonuses will be active throughout the entire duration of the event:

  • Increased chance to encounter Shiny Magnemite, Shiny Plusle, and Shiny Minun.
  • Magnetic Lure Modules are more likely to attract event-themed Pokémon.

That’s not all, as each day will have a special bonus active from 12:00am to 11:59pm local time:

October 15

  • 2x XP for catching Pokémon

October 16

  • 50% more XP from Raid Battles

October 17

  • 2x Stardust for catching Pokémon

Timed Research

Magnetic Study Timed Research will also go live every single day and featured Pokémon encounters have the chance to be a Shiny.

October 15

  • Encounters with the featured Pokémon of the day: Plusle
  • 5,000 XP
  • 2,500 Stardust

October 16

  • Encounters with the featured Pokémon of the day: Magnemite
  • 1 Magnetic Lure Module

October 17

  • Encounters with the featured Pokémon of the day: Minun
  • 5,000 XP
  • 2,500 Stardust

Last but not least, you’ll have the opportunity to come across the following Pokémon when you complete certain Field Research tasks:

  • Magnemite
  • Plusle
  • Minun
