The 0.207.20 Valheim update has brought a fair share of new content to the MMORPG. With a game as big as Valheim, however, some players might miss some of the nicer items that have been added that are available to be crafted.

The Fenris Armor set and the Flesh Rippers are two of the new pieces of equipment that came with the 0.207.20 update that players don’t want to miss out on. It’s important to note, however, that they both require the player to travel to the newly added Frost Caves and can’t simply be crafted out of the items that the player already has at the ready.

Crafting the Fenris Armor Set

The Fenris Armor set is made up of three discrete pieces: the Fenris Hood, the Fenris Coat, and the Fenris Leggings. Each piece of armor has a durability of 1,000 and an Armor Rating of 10. The hood only has a weight of 1 while the coat and leggings weigh 10 each, making the set a viable outfit for braving Valheim‘s cruel world.

The Fenris Armor set needs to be crafted to be obtained and requires the player to spend some time in the new Frost Caves that were recently added with the new update.

Fenris Hood

The Fenris Hood requires the player to have 2 Wolf Pelts, 20 Fenris Hair, and one Cultist Trophy. The Wolf Pelts are certainly the easiest to find and the player might already have some stashed away. If not, head to the mountains and start fighting some wolves. The Wolf Pelt drop rate is pretty high so it shouldn’t take long to find the required number after taking on a few packs.

Fenris Hair and the Cultist Trophy are obtainable in the Frost Caves. The Frost Caves are also in the mountains so head to them after grabbing the Wolf Pelts. Fenris Hair gets dropped by Ulv’s, the werewolf-looking monsters that hang out in the Frost Caves. You can distinguish the Ulv’s from the similar-looking Fenrings by noting that Ulv’s walk on all fours. Fenris Hair can also be grabbed from Alters in the caves and in random chests.

The Cultist Trophy can be found by killing Cultists in the Frost Caves. The drop rate for the item is pretty low and Cultists can be deadly, so make sure you’re ready for prolonged fights before trying to farm the item.

Fenris Coat and Fenris Leggings

Both the Fenris Hood and Fenris Leggings require the same items to craft: 5 Wolf Pelts, 20 Fenris Hairs, and 10 Leather Scraps each. The Wolf Pelts and Fenris Hair are pretty easy to get your hands on and are detailed above.

Leather Scraps are equally easy to snag as it simply requires the player to kill some boars. They’re so common in the game that it’s likely the player has some already and won’t need to farm too many boars to craft the two items.

Crafting the Flesh Rippers

The Flesh Rippers are crafted using similar items to the Fenris Armor set. The player will need to collect 6 Fenris Claws, 10 Fenris Hairs, and 10 Silver Bars. Finding Fenris Hair is detailed above and Fenris Claws can be found in similar places. Instead of targeting Ulv’s, however, work on farming Fenris’ who walk on their hind legs. They frequently drop Fenris Claws, so it should be relatively easy for the player to get all six.

To find Silver, the player will need to have beaten the Bonemass boss. He will have dropped a Wishbone that glows when near ore deposits. In the mountains, Silver is plentiful in ore form in the mountains so just follow the Wishbone and you should have enough Silver Ore in no time. Combine Silver Ore with coal in the smelter and you’ll get the Silver Bars you need for the Flesh Rippers.
