To deal the most damage possible, you’re going to want the best Necromancer DPS build in Diablo 4. And to do the most damage, you’ll need the Bone Spear core ability. The Necromancer is normally all about their minions — skeleton warriors, mages and golems. But, to make this build as powerful as it possibly can be, we’re going to sacrifice all three minions to enhance your attacks, giving you more Critical Strike chance, more Vulnerability effects, and more straight-up damage. This Necromancer is a pure Glass Cannon and can deal millions of HP in damage. If you’re eager to simply delete anything in your way, this is a truly absurd build.

Necromancer Build | Bone Spear Abilities
The Bone Spear combines pure damage output with vulnerability to absolutely destroy anything you encounter in Diablo 4. With the right build, the Bone Spear (at Level 50~) can deal 3 million damage per hit. You don’t need to be perfectly kitted out with the right Aspects. All you need is this exact build.
- Bone Splinters: A basic attack we’ll use for ranged damage and some resource generation. Upgrade to gain additional projectiles and a chance to make enemies vulnerable.
- +Enhanced Bone Splinters, Initiate’s Bone Splinters
- Bone Spear: The most important ability of this build. Unlock it ASAP and fully upgrade. With these upgrades, generating up to 5 shards when critically striking. We’re aiming to make Bone Spear into a critical strike machine.
- +Enhanced Bone Spear, Paranormal Bone Spear
- Bone Prison: To generate more resources, we’ll need Bone Prison and Unliving Energy. Make sure to unlock Enhanced Bone Prison to generate constant resources. The third upgrade is up to you, but we recommend Fortify for survival — until you unlock Legendary equipment with additional barrier / fortify.
- +Enhanced Bone Prison, Dreadful Bone Prison
- Bone Prison: A simple ability that blocks enemies. Will help you control crowds and generates resources for each enemy inside. Incredibly useful for keeping your resources topped up and keeping your Necro safe.

- Corpse Tendrils: Another basic survival ability. Pulls enemies in and briefly stops them.
- +Enhanced Corpse Tendrils
- Bone Storm: An ultimate that deals high damage to all enemies in your area. Very effective, especially when upgraded to help increase damage reduction.
- +Prime Bone Storm, Supreme Bone Storm
If you’re struggling with taking too much damage too fast, you can swap out inessential abilities for protective ones — get Blood Mist to avoid powerful attacks. Otherwise, your Bone Prison and Corpse Tendrils should be enough to control packs of demons and destroy them with your Bone Spears.
Necromancer Ability Order | Bone Spear Build
The Bone Spear build sacrifices everything to deal as much damage as possible. Because this build is focused entirely on increases the damage of Bone Spear to maximum, you may want to save this build until you’re Level 50, then respec.
- Book of the Dead: Sacrifice minions to unlock additional enhancements.
- Skeletal Warriors: Sacrifice Skirmishers to increase Critical Strike chances by 5%.
- Mage Skeletons: Sacrifice Cold Mages to increase damage to vulnerable enemies by 15%.
- Golems: Sacrifice Iron Golems to increase Critical Strike damage by 30%.
This build completely ignores corpses and instead focuses on dealing direct damage with Bone Spear. Because Bone Spear costs resources, you’ll need to generate consistent energy. Use Legendary gear to lower resource costs of abilities and unlock more methods for generation — Lucky Hit, etc. To generate resources, we’ll be using Blight and Bone Prison.
Select the abilities in this general order. Make sure to maximize Bone Spear and passives to give yourself the biggest possible boost.

- Corpse Tendrils -> Enhanced Corpse Tendrils

- Stand Alone -> Memento Mori
Customize this build however you want for your needs — this is just the best setup for us. Once you’ve maximized your critical strike chances and unleashed lots of vulnerabilities, Bone Spear becomes incredibly powerful. Make sure to unlock and upgrades all the right passives for maximum damage.
