A Returning Malboro & More Secret Bosses [FF7: Remake]
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a strange beast. It’s a lavish, expanded remake of the first few hours of Final Fantasy 7 — leaving it in a weird narrative and gameplay position. How do you have endgame content in a game that’s just the first act of a story?
By dropping late-game enemies into Midgar, of course. There are two super-secret ultra bosses hidden in the game — Malboro is one of this. This returning monster is a reoccurring enemy that’s frequently been upgraded into a fully-fledged boss type. He’s just a giant mouth that barfs out toxic status ailments. The other secret boss is Pride & Joy, which is a lot harder to pin down. Just check out the guide linked above for more details.
These aren’t the only bosses returning in FF7R. You’ll also find the terrifying Behemoth — a memorably difficult boss that just keeps coming back to scare FF players. All of them are secret bonuses. All of them are worth fighting at least once.
Attracting Something Truly Evil [World of Horror]
World of Horror is full of bizarre secrets. That’s just the nature of being a horror game rogue-like — and there’s one secret that was so intriguing, we all needed an answer ASAP. By visiting a neighbor and seeing a strange painting, played would get a message stating that “Something Truly Evil Is Getting Closer.”
What is the evil?! It turns out the original version of the early-access game didn’t have this quest concluded. Several months later, we finally got an answer and a method for attracting something truly evil. It’s basically a death sentence. The more strange (and totally random) events you encounter, the more likely Something Truly Evil will appear before you.
This faceless specter looks at you with a pair of eyes set into the deep shadows of its missing face, transporting you to an unreal cyclopean realm. Something Truly Evil can’t be defeated by normal means. Instead of fighting it, you can only sate it by choosing special actions like “Suffer for me”, “Cry for me” or even “Die for me” — which isn’t great, because you’ll literally kill yourself.
