You Are Worthy Of Thor’s Hammer [Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla]

You can’t make a game about vikings without throwing around Thor’s Hammer. It just can’t be done when the MCU Avengers are the biggest pop culture thing on the planet Earth. So if you’re going to have Norse mythology feature prominently, then you’re gonna get some big Thor energy.

And Thor’s Hammer is an unlockable, equippable weapon your assassin can claim. To get it, you’ll need to travel to ancient cities, fight creatures from Norse myth, and collect a full set of shiny armor that really doesn’t look anything like Thor’s costume from The Avengers — which makes perfect sense. So this isn’t really an Easter egg. It’s more like getting King Arthur’s sword Excalibur… which is also a secret weapon in AC: Valhalla.

Entirely Remixed Campaign In Inferno Difficulty [Resident Evil 3]

One of the most unexpected secrets in Resident Evil 3 isn’t all the cool weapons you’ll be able to earn after finishing the campaign. The biggest surprise is Inferno Mode, the highest difficulty option, actually completely remixes the game — throwing new challenges at you and forcing you to use the game’s new Shop system to give yourself as much of an edge as possible.

In Inferno, enemies aren’t just tougher — new enemies have replaced the old ones. Key items appear in different places. You’ll die ridiculously quickly, and the last boss is suddenly a lot harder. You might not need the killer unlimited ammo weapons and key items you can purchase from the Shop in Normal difficulty runs, but Inferno basically requires them.

Revisit some of the best secrets on 2020 on the next page.
