Anthem: How To Earn XP & Reach Lvl 30 Fast | XP Farming Guide

February 25, 2019 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Roll the dice, and you can earn tens of thousands of XP in Anthem while doing basically no work at all. Here’s a few tips for leveling up fast.

By the time you complete the campaign solo in Anthem, you’ll only reach about Level 18 or so. The max level in the game is 30, and you’ll only be able to get the best possible gear when you reach the limit. If you’re looking for a better way to earn XP and climb the ranks, we’ve got a few tips to share with you. There is no sure-fire perfect farming strategy, but there are plenty of tips and shortcuts you can use to rapidly earn XP. One of the methods might even net you some no-effort XP, but it’s all down to random chance.

Anthem is a loot-shooter like Destiny, The Division, and others — you’ll complete missions, fight enemies, earn XP, and collect loot. Instead of getting skill points from gaining levels, you’ll simply increase the quality of loot you earn from drops. Each level that you gain in Anthem gives you better (and better) loot drops, so it’s pretty important to speed through those levels for the best possible stuff. And you’ll need the good stuff if you want to survive Grandmaster 1 difficulty or higher.

How To Earn XP & Reach Lvl 30 Fast | XP Farming Guide

Level 30 is the top level in Anthem. Levels have one and only function in Anthem — getting you better gear. The higher your level, the better loot you’ll collect from drops. If you want the best possible items, you’ll want to get to Level 30 fast and start grinding for those valuable loot drops.

To get to Level 30 fast, there are a couple strategies you can use. All of them are effective, but some are more effective than others. We’ll start with the experiences that have worked the best for us, then list the remaining strategies in the following entries.

  • XP Farming – Tips & Tricks
    • Use ‘Quickplay’ to jump into missions fast.
      • XP isn’t earned by defeating enemies. It is 100% earned by completing events, strongholds or missions. Missions are the fastest tasks you can join.
      • By using Quickplay, you’ll often join in-progress missions you can complete faster.
    • Turn up the Difficulty to “Hard”
      • Playing on harder difficulty will give you a slightly higher percentage of XP at the end of the mission.
      • Alternatively, you can lower the difficulty to blasé through missions and complete them faster. The XP gain is very small, but I had more luck playing on higher difficulty settings.
    • Complete ‘Contracts’ and more Missions
      • Once you complete the main story campaign, you’ll want to grind contracts for the most XP. Replaying missions with teams in quickplay is still a good strategy for more XP — especially if you luck out and join a team at the very end of a mission. You’ll get a full XP reward, even if you do 1% of the work.

After you’ve completed the campaign, it’s a good idea to play the first Stronghold on Normal — get both chests and the loot dropped by the titan at the end. This takes a longer time, but it’s worth the extra loot you’ll find. The loot dropped from strongholds skews better.

Playing on Hard and doing Quickplay missions is the most basic way to level up quickly. This is especially handy if you don’t care about playing the campaign out of order. In my opinion, the story really doesn’t matter anyway. Best to just do Quickplay missions.
