Put on your walking shoes, because for a limited time you’ll be able to earn all-new Generation 3 Pokémon in Pokémon GO — every hatched egg will give you a new Pokémon from the Hoenn Region. That’s a pretty good deal that’s going to help fanatics fill out their Pokedex with the new Pokémon that were just recently added to the mobile game.
Generation 3 Pokémon, or Pokémon from the Hoenn Region, come directly from Pokémon Ruby, Emerald, and Sapphire — and Pokémon GO just added 23 new critters to the list. This month, 70 Hoenn Pokémon were dropped into the game, with some locked behind the EX Raid system some fans are getting pretty peeved by. But, most of the Pokémon are free to capture while wandering around your town, and for now, every egg you hatch will also provide a Generation 3.

Hatch Eggs To Get Hoenn Pokemon | All 70 Gen 3 Guide
NOTE: Eggs exclusively hatching Gen 3 Pokémon is a limited time event. Only new eggs will hatch Hoenn Region Pokémon.
For a limited time, starting on 1/25/18, all hatched eggs will give you Generation 3 Pokémon. There are currently 93+ Pokémon from the Hoenn Region. Originally, there were 70 — and the 1/25 update includes 23 new Gen 3 Pokémon. You can check out the full list of new Pokémon below.
Here’s a quick breakdown of everything you need to know about the limited time event.
- All eggs earned after 1/24/18 will drop Gen 3 Pokémon.
- Eggs are generated when tapping PokeStops.
- To hatch a Gen 3 egg, place your egg into an Incubator. Each incubator can only hold one egg at a time. To hatch an egg, you’ll need to match the required amount of steps.
- The Pokémon GO app must be open while you walk. Only an open PGO app will count steps.
- After a certain amount of steps, the egg will hatch with any of the new Generation 3 Pokémon.
