You’re going to need plenty of remedies for status effects when you enter the battle with Elder Wyrm. Because of its sporefall attack, your party can be hit with some random status effects throughout the battle.
Take care of your status effects, if possible, and then focus the two treants before you start working on Elder Wyrm. Really, the battle against Elder Wyrm will be avoiding the sporefall attack which can be done in a few different ways.
For instance, you can use your tank based character to lead the pack and have him take most of the damage when Elder Wyrm attacks or you can simply try to get some distance between you and Elder Wyrm before the sporefall attack.
Physical-based attacks should be enough to quickly take down Elder Wyrm, especially if you buff up a few characters to offer a bit more damage.
