Tiamat will consistently raise its defenses as the boss loses health, as such, hacking away the health meter will take some time. The best way to take down this boss is by having your party use ranged weapons along with buffing them up with Shell, Protect, and Regen.
Keep your party spread out as well during the battle. When your party is spread out, Tiamat will have a difficult time trying to use area attacks.
