Destiny 2: How To Get Every Exotic Weapon | All Exotics List [UPDATED]

Exotics are the top-tier, totally unique weapons of Destiny 2. They have a unique look you won’t find anywhere else, and they always include powerful features you won’t find on any other gun. We all want Exotics, and Bungie claims every activity and chest has a (very small) chance of dropping an Exotic. That might be true, but most players can fight all the way to Power Level 260 without seeing a single Exotic. That’s a bummer, but there are other ways to earn the best weapons in Destiny 2.

Exotic Quests can be unlocked through a variety of ways — but mostly by completing World Quests. After finishing the Campaign, all-new World Quests will drop onto each of the four major zones your Guardian can explore. These high-level, end-game PVE quests send your team of Guardians on a tough journey through areas you’ve explored, and each World Quest comes with a recommended Power Level. You’re almost always going to get an Exotic Quest item for finishing a World Quest — but it isn’t always clear what to do next. We’ll provide all the details you need.

Exotic Weapons are the rarest guns in Destiny 2. Exotic Weapons always have unique models, and often include special effects that no other weapon posses. Like other weapons, Guardians can level up Exotics and unlock new enhancements.

Exotic Weapons can be purchased from Xur in Destiny 2 using Legendary Shards. Dismantling an exotic weapon or armor piece will earn you 10 Legendary Shards.
Guardians can only equip 1 Exotic Weapon and 1 Exotic Armor at a time.

Exotic Weapons are the best of the best — and Guardians can often earn them through Exotic Bounties or by completing special, secret Exotic quests.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You’ll want to complete the Campaign and unlock World Quests to earn many Exotic weapons. Recommended PL 260.

Exotic Kinetic Weapons List

The following exotic weapons are in the Kinetic weapon category.

MIDA Multi-Tool

Weapon Type: Scout Rifle
Damage Type: Kinetic
How To Unlock:
- Complete the World Quest “Enhance!” on Earth, in the Trostland Sector to earn the MIDA Mini-Tool and the Exotic Quest item.
- Take the Exotic Quest item to the Cryptarch.
- Get Precision Kills & Multi-Kills with the Scout Rifle.
- Dismantle 5 Rare or Legendary Scout Rifles.
- Get 50 airborne SMG kills.

Sturm

Weapon Type: Hand Cannon
Damage Type: Kinetic
How To Unlock:
- Complete the World Quest “Exodus Black” on Nessus, in the Exodus Black Sector to earn the Drang Legendary and the Exotic Quest item.
- Take the Exotic Quest item to the Cryptarch.
  - Decrypt 5 Legendary Engrams & decrypt 1 Exotic Engram.
  - Kill 10 Fallen on Nessus with Drang.
- Take the Exotic Quest item back to the Cryptarch, then talk to Tyra Karn at the Farm.
  - Get 10 Multi-Kills with Drang vs. Fallen enemies.
  - Kill 10 powerful (yellow health) Fallen with Drang.
- Defeat Servitor Kendriks-7 in the “Exodus Crash” strike on Nessus, in the Prodromus Down Sector.

Rat King

Weapon Type: Sidearm
Damage Type: Kinetic
How To Unlock:
- Complete the World Quest “Enemy of My Enemy” on Titan, in The Rig Sector to earn the Exotic Quest item. It’s a riddle — just follow the steps to complete each riddle.
  - Finish 3 Patrol Missions (Complete the Campaign & Select “Patrols” from the Director) in a Fireteam.
  - Finish 2 Public Events in any sector.
  - Participate (or win) in 2 Crucible matches.
  - Complete a Nightfall Strike with 5 minutes left on the clock.

Sweet Business

Weapon Type: Auto Rifle
Damage Type: Kinetic
How To Unlock:
- Extremely rare Exotic Engram drop.

Vigilance Wing

Weapon Type: Pulse Rifle

- Complete the Leviathan Raid quest chain to unlock this Exotic Shotgun and all of its perks.
- To unlock the Leviathan Raid, kill Cabal until you get the “On The Comms” item, then defeat more Cabal to collect five quest items. That will unlock the raid.

The Prospector
