Experience
Experience points are something you should be gunning for as you progress through the game and best of all, gaining experience within Agents of Mayhem is relatively easy to obtain. One thing to take note of when progressing through the narrative is that experience is given to your party agents evenly.
Each hero will obtain the same amount of experience in your party. This could be extremely useful if you’re trying to level up a certain agent. Simply toss the low-level agent among other useful agents during a mission and buff the character up without having to focus on using the character throughout the mission.
Swap Heroes
As mentioned within the experience points, players are able to swap agents before missions. During the narrative, players are able to equip three agents at a time and with it, they are able to swap between the three selected agents on the fly.
This feature goes for narrative campaign mission to freely roaming around the city map. However, you will need to keep track of their health meter. If one character’s health starts to become too low, it’s best that you swap the hero for another character in your roster, giving your injured agent a break from the fight.
Make sure to go through and check out all the available heroes as you may find certain abilities may help during certain missions.
Character Missions
If you’re interested in checking out more background information for characters then you’ll definitely want to check into the character specific missions.
They offer background storyline along with adding experience points to your agents and can unlock custom skins.
Crystals
Throughout the game, you’ll find Crystal Shards which will grant players a full crystal. These Crystals can be used to upgrade an Agent’s core, but coming across full Crystals is a bit harder than simply farming for experience.
If players manage to collect a total of ten Crystal Shards, they can transform it into a full Crystal. They will be scattered throughout the city, in alleyways, rooftops, streets, anywhere and everywhere.
With that said, don’t try and hold out on the Crystals for later use. They are relatively easy to come by when collecting the Crystal Shards and best of all you can buff your heroes up greatly with them.
Combat
Each agent offers their own unique spin when it comes to combat and how they take down an enemy. Being a fast-paced action title, you won’t find that the developer has offered the luxury of taking your time when battling against a horde of opponents.
Combat within Agents of Mayhem is rather forgiving. You only have to fire when your crosshairs are red. You will still find that taking just a brief amount of time adjusting your crosshairs will offer a more desirable result, but if you’re in a rush, just look for when your crosshairs turn red.
Wreck Room
Take advantage of the Wreck Room at the M.A.Y.H.E.M. headquarters as it will be a perfect option to test out your agents, weapons, and upgrades before you head to your next mission. Likewise, the Wreck Room offers side-missions to go through that was programmed by M.A.Y.H.E.M.
These missions are not required, though we recommend checking it out from time-to-time. Especially when testing out new weaponry or gadgets.
Squad Menus
When making adjustments to your party of agents, you’ll have to access the Squad Menu. Luckily, as it stands right now, accessing this menu on the fly will not leave your agent vulnerable by the enemies in your immediate area.
Now if you need to make adjustments with your agent’s upgrades, gadgets, or other weaponry, you are free to do so at any point during a mission.
