Hello Games Detail Path Finder Update for No Man’s Sky; Adds PS4 Pro Support, Planetary Vehicles and More

March 8, 2017 by Jordan Biazzo

Will you be returning to No Man’s Sky?

Chris Hohbein from Hello Games took to the PlayStation Blog to bring fans of No Man’s Sky an announcement about their next free update. Being dubbed as the Path Finder Update, users will receive a ton of new features including planetary vehicles, shop/traders, and build able race tracks.

The previous update, Foundation, allowed players to build bases on any planets they deemed. The overwhelming positive reaction from the update surprised Hello Games and it helped them continue updating and integrating new features into the game that they hope players will also enjoy.

The Path Finder update brings tons of new features, so without further ado here they are:

  • PlayStation 4 Pro Support
  • Improved Visuals
  • Owning Multiple Ships
  • Base Sharing Online
  • New Vehicles — Exocraft
  • Permadeath Mode
  • Build Vehicle Race Tracks
  • Ship Specializations and Classes
  • Shop/Traders
  • Double the Base Building Variety
  • Multi-tool Specialization and Classes
  • New Weapon Modes
  • Photo Mode
  • Discovery Menu
  • Quality of Life Improvements
  • 50% more original music from 65daysofstatic

No Man’s Sky has never looked better, with a host of visual improvements including new high-resolution textures, improved lighting, ambient occlusion, and of course PS4 Pro support. Players looking to capture their favorite moments can also make use of a new photo mode. This screenshot tool lets players change the time of day, increase or decrease fog and cloud levels, unlock their camera for the perfect angle, and even add filters to their screenshots. We can’t wait to see what the community can come up with!

The full patch notes for the update can be found here. Watch the Foundation Update trailer down below, and get your first look at some of the new features.
