Less than a month before the release of God of War Ragnarök, Sony unveiled a PS5 bundle featuring both the console and the game. The company also highlights the various features brought by the PlayStation 5 to enhance God of War Ragnarök’s experience.
God of War Ragnarök is one of the most anticipated games to release before the end of the year. It continues the story of 2018’s God of War, where Kratos and his son Atreus explore the nine realms of Norse mythology. God of War Ragnarök will conclude their adventure in ancient Scandinavia, as Kratos and Atreus have to face the Ragnarök, a series of events foretelling the apocalypse.
The latest trailer published by PlayStation shows more of the action waiting for players in God of War Ragnarök. It also highlights various features available on PS5, such as 4K resolution support, 3D audio with stereo headphones, and the PS5’s DualSense haptic feedback to feel the strong blows landing on Kratos.
God of War Ragnarök was originally stated for a 2021 release, but the COVID-19 pandemic and Kratos voice actor Christopher Judge’s health problems delayed the release of the game. Some fans even took it to God of War studio employees, sending them threats and insults in response to the decision to delay God of War Ragnarök. The game is now nearing its release, having gone gold a week ago.
The story of God of War Ragnarök takes place three years after the events of 2018’s God of War. A series of events bringing the end of the world, also known as Ragnarök, is set into motion. Kratos and Atreus have to travel across the nine realms to stop Ragnarök, meeting various Gods to slay on their way.
Considering the supply issues that prevented many players from getting their hands on a PlayStation 5, Sony is putting in the effort to make sure everyone can access God of War Ragnarök upon its launch. A PS5 x God of War Ragnarök bundle will be available on the game’s release date, on November 9, 2022.
This bundle includes a PlayStation 5 console and a digital voucher code to download God of War Ragnarök. The console featured in this bundle is not themed, so if you already own a PlayStation 5 you may not need to get this bundle. However, if you’re still struggling to purchase a PS5, Sony should have more stocks coming in the upcoming weeks to cover God of War Ragnarök’s launch.
If you are not interested in the PS5 x God of War Ragnarök bundle, you can wait to play this game on PC. 2018’s God of War was eventually released on Microsoft Windows four years after its initial console release, so chances are its sequel will do the same.
God of War Ragnarök will release for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on November 9, 2022.
