Super Mario Wonder: Where To Find Every Collectible In ‘Here Come The Hoppos’

October 25, 2023 by Adam Carr

Walkthrough for every collectable to be found in ‘Here Come The Hoppos’ for Super Mario Wonder’s first world.

  • Purple Coin #1
  • Purple Coin #2
  • Purple Coin #3
  • Wonder Seed #1
  • Flag & Wonder Seed #2

‘Here Comes The Hoppo’s is the fifth level in Super Mario Wonder’s ‘World 1’. Like every level up until this point, it adds a funky new mechanic to mess around with. This time, you get to meet the hilariously rotund, Hoppos.

In this guide, we are going to walk you through how to find every Purple Coin and Wonder Seed in ‘Bulrush Coming Through’ so you can get 100% completion. There is no secret exit in this stage so you can get everything in one playthrough.

Purple Coin #1

The first Purple Coin is grabbed by knocking a Hoppo into a hole and then holding ‘Jump’ to get enough height to grab it. This is more of a tutorial coin to encourage you to experiment with the Hoppo’s jumping mechanics.

Purple Coin #2

The second Purple Coin is hidden in a secret transition. You need to bounce a Hoppo into a gap between two pipes. Jump on the Hoppo to be launched into a secret area in the sky. Complete this short section and grab the Purple Coin at the end.

Purple Coin #3

This final coin takes a bit of setup. Firstly, don’t kill any Koopas…yet. You will see a yellow ‘?’ block on the wall and no way to activate it. The trick here is to bounce a Hoppo into a nearby hole, grab a Koopa Shell, and throw it at the Hoppo. This will cause the shell to launch into the block, triggering it. A Purple Coin will spawn, finishing off your Coin collecting for this level.

Wonder Seed #1

The first Wonder Seed is timed. Once you start the event, Hoppos will start to roll down the nearby hill. After a while, a giant Hoppo will spawn with a Wonder Seed hovering above. You need to use the Hoppos to get on top of the Giant Hoppo. This can be quite tricky, so just time your jump from an elevated platform just as a Hoppo gets near the Giant Hoppo.

Flag & Wonder Seed #2

Like all levels, the final Wonder Seed is collected once you finish the level. If you want to grab the Flag (which you do if you are going for 100% completion), use the nearby Hoppo to get enough height to reach the top. Easy.
