October 10, 2023 by Adam Carr

Starfield is a game that can absorb countless hours of your time without forcing you to take more than a couple of steps down the beaten path. It is a game intended to be explored, absorbed, and experienced. That doesn’t mean you should completely ignore the main quest, however. Nestled deep within its tedious walls is a neat addition to the gameplay, Powers.

Powers in Starfield come out of left field and forever warp your perception of the game and its universe. What was once a fairly grounded game, suddenly shifts towards something altogether different, and we love it. In this article we are going to go over all 24 Powers in Starfield, and how to unlock them.

What Are Powers In Starfield

Powers are unblocked by completing the ‘One Small Step’, ‘The Old Neighbourhood’, and ‘Into The Unknown’ quests. We have complete guides on all of these quests if you need help getting through them. In short, however, once you complete ‘Into The Unknown’ you will gain space magic, and it’s pretty darn awesome.

You can activate your selected power by pressing LB+RB.

How To Unlock Powers

Your first power is unlocked simply by completing the aforementioned quests. If you want to gain more powers, you are going to have to find more Artefacts for Constellation. This is as simple as completing more quests to unlock a power-based quest. There’s not much more to it than that.

Do more quests, and get more powers. Simple.

Every Power In Starfield

Here is a complete list of Powers in Starfield, and what they do:

  • Create Vacuum – Cut the 02 supply of targets in the area of a duration.
  • Creator’s Peace – Pacifies all enemies in an area and disarms them for a duration.

  • Inner Demon – Force an enemy to confront their inner demons, creating a mirror image of themselves that attacks them.
  • Life Forced – Drain the life out of a living being and transfer it to yourself.
  • Moon Form – Become as strong as stone, rooting yourself in place and increasing your resistance to all damages greatly.
  • Parallel Self – Summon another version of you from an alternate dimension for a duration.
  • Particle Beam – Shoot a beam of pure particle energy that deals high damage to enemies in front of you.
  • Personal Atmosphere – Oxygen, pure and clean, brought forth to breathe deep and counteract harmful carbon dioxide.
  • Phased Time – Phase through the normal flow of time and slow down the universe for a duration.
  • Precognition – Look into the multiverse and visualise the future actions of actors, conversational and otherwise.
  • Reactive Shield – Envelop yourself in a metastable shell of antimatter that reflects projectiles and increases your resistance to attacks.
  • Sense Star Stuff – Bind yourself to the particles of creation, sensing the life force of any human, alien, or Starborn.
  • Solar Flare – Emit an intense burst of solar energy that damages enemies and can set them ablaze.
  • Sunless Space – Shoot a ball of ice as cold as space into an area, freezing any living being caught in the blast for a duration.
  • Supernova – Explode with the power of a supernova in an area around you, dealing massive damage.
  • Void Form – Warp the light around you, becoming nearly invisible for a duration.

That’s all we have on Starfield for now. Be sure to check out our other guides, lists, and walkthroughs for more Starfield content.
