To form a Party, hunters must be within a certain range of whoever creates the party or they will not be able to join any subsequent Group Hunts the Party embarks on. You can only be part of one Party at a time. Note that while you are in a Party, you cannot engage in a Solo Hunt or use Paintballs to mark Large Monsters. You are restricted to the actions of the Party.
Forming a Party
While using the Party Up feature, you can either create a party or join an existing party. To join a Party, whoever scans the QR code must be within a certain range of the Party creator. If they go out of range, they cannot join Group Hunts.
To use the QR code feature to create or join a party, do the following:
- Tap on your Hunter Icon from the Main screen. This is in the lower-left corner of the screen.
- Select Party.
- Choose Create Party to create a Party or Scan to join a Party.
- If creating a Party, share the QR code with the hunters you want to invite.
If joining a Party, use the camera function to scan the Party creator’s QR code.
Group Hunt
There are two ways to participate in a Group Hunt: by creating or joining a Party, or by connecting with nearby hunters. While you’re in a Party, you can only invite Party members to join your Large Monster Hunts. However, if your Party has fewer than 4 members, then you will be able to invite nearby hunters to join your Group Hunt. If you’re not in a Party, then you’ll still have the option to invite nearby hunters. Again, all members must be in a certain range to participate in the Group Hunt. If anyone goes outside of that range, they will not be able to join.
You can Group Hunt any Large Monsters that appear on your map or that are registered on your Paintball List. However, only Party members can join a Group Hunt for monsters on your Paintball List. You don’t need to be a party member to join a hunt initiated in the field.
To start a Group Hunt, when you’re on the Hunt Preparation Menu, use the second button to invite party members to the hunt. While in the field, you will the Invite Party option as well as the Hunt With Nearby Hunters option. Once the Party member who invited others to hunt is ready, they can initiate the hunt.
Disbanding the Party
Party members can manually leave a party by either tapping the Party button on the Main screen or by using their Hunter Icon and tapping the Party button. The Leave Party option will appear.
If Party members don’t manually leave the Party, then the Party will automatically disband at 12:00am daily or when there is a single member of the Party remaining. If a hunt occurs when the clock strikes twelve, then the Party will disband after the hunt concludes.
