Starfield: How To Win The Almagest Jackpot

September 6, 2023 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Jackpot!

While exploring the galaxy in Starfield, you may stumble into a strange abandoned spacestation called the Almagest. Found near the core of the United Colonies, this unique space casino has been taken over by Spacers — they prefer to shoot first and ask questions never. The Zero-G Casino is richly decorated and includes a big score of credits if you know how to handle yourself. There’s a computer puzzle to solve and a fat cache of contraband that can net you 23,000+ credits put all together. That’s a pretty big nest egg to discover so early in your adventure. Here’s how to solve the Almagest puzzle and how to sell all that contraband safely.

How To Win The The Almagest Jackpot

The Almagest is an abandoned luxury casino found in the Olympus System, orbiting the planet of Nesoi. The ‘ultimate tourist attraction’ is actually a sickening, gawdy and old-fashioned waste of time that is rotting in the vacuum of space. But, the area is where you can find a massive stockpile of credits.

This optional dungeon is packed with dangerous Spacers — and a huge cash reward if you can solve the puzzle. Reach the zero-g interior of the Almagest and float down. From the bar at the entrance, go left to find a missing panel in the wall. It leads to a computer terminal and a Contraband Chest.

Use the terminal, called the ‘Jackpot Backend’ and input the correct combination.

  • Jackpot Backend Terminal Code
  • Winning Numbers: 12 – 19 – 36 – 5

Solve the puzzle to win a [3,700 credit] payout. That’s not bad — but the Contraband is even better. Right next to the terminal, take all the yellow-marked contraband you can.

  • Contraband Cache: x5 Mech Components (10,000~ value), and x5 Stolen Artwork (10,000~ value)
  • Don’t miss the extra Mech Component near the cache. That will give you x6 Mech Components total.

All that contraband in total is worth 20,000 credits. That’s a huge haul. You’ll need a safe port to sell it — The Key (Crimson Fleet HQ) will safely purchase this contraband. Otherwise, you’ll need to purchase a Shielded Cargo Hold (sold from the Red Mile / The Key) and place the Contraband in your Ship Inventory. There’s a chance you won’t get caught when moving contraband with Shielded Cargo.

The Contraband Cache haul will get you instantly rich. If you don’t have a way to transport the contraband, make sure to stash it on the Almagest and come back for it later. It is so valuable you don’t want to lose it. Most vendors won’t have enough credits so you may need to rest until the Trade Authority resets stock, or just spend 10,000 credits and get your money back instantly with another Contraband sale. You’ll want to unload the goods ASAP.
