There’s a big problem early Firebase Z players are experiencing in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War — and if you’re caught by this frustrating glitch, it’s an instant session ender. I got slammed with this glitch on my very first session, and you can avoid it by taking some basic precautions. It’s only activated in a pretty specific location (as far as we can tell) so it is possible to keep this from happening to you.
It’s all about the new Mimic boss zombie that spawns during multiple rounds. These enemies can grab you mid-dash and toss you around like a ragdoll. There tossing animations is where the problems come in — if you’re in the wrong spot at the wrong time, Mimics can toss your straight out of the map and right through invisible walls! There are some areas where this is far more likely than others in my testing, so let’s talk about what you need to avoid.
While you’re here, you might also want a few tips explaining how to turn on Power and Pack-a-Punch in Firebase Z.

How To Avoid This Out-Of-Map Glitch
In my testing, Mimics don’t normally throw you out-of-bounds and get you trapped outside the map. Against any normal walls and obstacles, you’ll simply bounce off without a problem when they throw you back.
The problems lie in three specific rooms — Scorched Defense, Rocky Defense, and Jungle Defense. And only in specific spots in these areas. You need to be standing next to the sandbags and facing the so that the Mimic throws you directly through them. That means you basically have to stand on the edge of the map, facing away — and trapping yourself in a dead end.
Obviously, this is not a wise move to make while you’re being chased by mimics. When it happened to me, I was thrown over the left barrier facing the jungle in Rocky Defense. It’s all up to the Mimic, but being thrown out of the map basically means you’re stuck. You can’t shoot enemies, and no more enemies will spawn. You can’t get out either; no matter how much jumping, crouching and crawling we attempted, there was no escape.
While I haven’t seen it myself, it’s very possible that Mimics can throw players through other sections of the map. Here’s my advice — when Mimics are running around, don’t let them catch you near a low barrier. They might just break the laws of video game physics and toss you through the edge of the map.
