Secret R&G Level [Enter The Gungeon]
Enter The Gungeon is full of secrets, but the best new secret to enter the game in 2019 is the R&G Level — get it? Like RNG? You can access the fancy business office through a Sell Creep. After dropping through his grate, you’ll explore the developer’s office building and fight a goblin in a boss battle parody of the Hynd-D helicopter fight in Metal Gear Solid. That alone makes this hidden level a worthwhile entry.

Playable Shovel Knight [Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night]
Shovel Knight isn’t just an enemy you can fight in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night — the kickstarter game pushed by Castlevania: Symphony of the Night veteran Koji Igarashi. Shovel Knight is an indie darling, and you can actually play as the shiny shovel-wielding little guy. Defeat the Shovel Knight enemy enough, and you’ll get a rare EX Shovel Armor ability — naturally, it transforms you into Shovel Knight! It isn’t exactly a great power-up, but it turns you into an iconic indie character, so I love it anyway.
