Fortnite: Chapter 2 – 10 Settings You Need To Change On Console To Improve Your Battle Royale Ranking

October 22, 2019 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Explore the new Settings in Fortnite: Chapter 2 with these community-driven tweaks.

Everything in Fortnite: Chapter 2 has been tweaked — and that includes the settings. Even your controls might feel different in the new version of Fortnite. It isn’t just the new map. There are new settings you can toy around with, including new Advanced Sensitivity options that give you even more control over your controller.

We’re delving back into the labyrinth of Settings in Fortnite for another look. If you’re struggling and want to know a few settings to swap, we’ve got a list of 10 changes you might want to make. Settings are unique for every player, so I recommend testing these out before making a solid decision.

Try The New Advanced Controller Sensitivity Settings

Advanced Sensitivity Settings are totally new, and there are a lot of them. You can activated the new ‘Advanced Settings’ from the toggle under the ‘Controller Sensitivity’ Tab. There’s a lot of setting here, and you’ll need to test them all. Here’s a quick list of recommendations.

  • Instant Boost When Building: On
  • Look Input Curve: Exponential
  • Advanced – Look Sensitivity
    • Turning Horizontal Boost: 0%
    • Turning Vertical Boost: 0%

The ‘Boost’ settings are the biggest change, and can totally ruin your aiming. I recommend setting these ‘off’ completely by rolling down all the ‘Boosts’ to 0%. ADS Boosts might be okay with some practice, but look boosts are just too unpredictable.

Change These Build Settings

Under the ‘Game’ tab, there are two simple build setting I recommend giving a try.

  • Confirm Edit On Release – On
  • Builder Pro: Build Immediately – On

‘Confirm Edit On Release’ automatically confirms an edit action when building. You don’t need to confirm again — just release to auto-confirm. When using the Builder Pro setting, build pieces will automatically start building when you switch to that piece. It’s a great way to rapidly build, even if you’re a newbie.

Disable (Or Enable) Cross Platform Play

Under the ‘Game’ tab, scroll down to find ‘Allow Cross Platform Parties’ — if you don’t want to allow cross-play parties, just turn this setting ‘Off’. Some modes are locked if you do this, or it might take longer to join a match.

Change Color Correctness For Easier Visibility

You can carefully manage the ‘Color Correctness’ settings to change visibility, even if you’re not Color Blind. Two of the most popular settings for easier visibility are Protanope 10 or Deuteranope 10. Enhance or adjust the settings — these settings won’t drastically change the color palette, so it still looks normal. The only change will be to visibility! Players pop out just a little more with these settings.

Disable Replays To Boost Performance

If you’re looking to improve performance and save on HDD space, simply toggle off ‘Record Replays’ — you’ll find this under the ‘Game’ tab, under ‘Replays’. This feature is on by default, so this is one easy way to get a performance boost on PC or console.
