The Final Encounter – Sanctified Mind
This is a bizarre encounter with a ton of different complex mechanics at work. I recommend reading ahead and learning what’s in store before attempting to fight the Sanctified Mind.
- Step #1: Depositing Motes At The Red / Blue Confluxes
Take note of the Red Conflux and the Blue Conflux in the central arena. Each Conflux can accept a different type of Mote, and they will move positions during the battle.
Enemies will spawn around the massive boss in the center of the arena. Destroying the Angelic Vex will cause two lights to appear on the boss’s body — a blue leg light, and a red arm light. Depending on which light you shoot, a different portal will open, leading to a different locations.
- NOTE: Everytime you break a portal off the boss, a Cyclops turret will spawn.
Shooting the arm light will generate a red portal. Going through it, you’ll find enemies that spawn Red Motes. You can deposit these at the Red Conflux. If you enter the other portal, the blue portal, you’ll find Blue Motes you can deposit into the Blue Conflux.
- Step #1B: Managing Enlightened Buff & Defending Confluxes
The Enlightened Buff is back. Collecting Motes will give you the Enlightened Buff here, allowing you to kill invincible enemies in the main arena.
Like before, the Vex are trying to attack the Confluxes. If too many get close, you’ll get a team wipe — you have to use the Enlightened Buff to clear out as many invincible Vex as possible.
Whenever you shoot off a portal from the boss, a Cyclops will spawn and a section of the arena will disappear. You can repair the sections by connecting a tether to the Tether Cube and the Conflux.
- Step #2: Split Intro Three 2-Guardian Teams
Split into three teams, consisting of two Guardians each. Team #1: Defenders should focus on protecting the Confluxes and destroying the Cyclops spawns. Team #2: Red Motes, should go for Red Motes while Team #3: Blue Motes should hunt Blue Motes.
- NOTE: Team #1 and Team #2 need to break the invulnerable shields off enemies when they return. You don’t need to kill, just break as many shields as possible. They don’t refill.
After filling a Conflux with 30 Motes, you’ll get a message — ‘The Tether is Pulsing With Dark Energy…’. Fill both the red and blue Conflux with 30 Motes each.
- NOTE: There are 15 /18 Motes through each random portal. Send two Guardians to collect all the Motes — as they leave, make sure to send two more Guardians through the same portal.
Team #1: Defenders – While Team #2 and Team #3 and hunting Motes, Team #1 should defend and restore missing sections of the arena with Tethers. Generate the tethers, and use two Guardians to connect to the Tether Cube. Do this to as many sections as you can! It isn’t required, but it makes the fight easier.
- Step #3: Break The Dark Tethers — Damage Phase
After depositing 30 Motes into both red and blue Confluxes, the boss will change behavior. It will begin to generate a giant blue or red Tether Cube. Depending on the color, you’ll know what to do — connect a tether from the matching Conflux to the Tether Cube generated by the boss.
After the cube shatters, the boss will become vulnerable. Shoot the boss until he floats up into the air and reveals his weak point. The crystal in the center does Critical Damage when shot — use accurate weapons and Sniper Rifles to do the most damage.
You can extend the damage phase with tethers. When the boss exposes his weak point, connect with the opposite tether you used to make him vulnerable. That will cause him to be stunned a second time.
- Step #4: Reset, Deposit x2 30 Motes, Repeat Until Dead
Now do it all over again. Collect 30 Motes from the Blue / Red Portals, deposit them, connect the proper tether, stun him, and shoot. After about 3~ damage phases, you should be able to take this boss down.
With that done, you’ll finally finish the raid and earn another Raid Chest, along with a bunch of exclusive Raid Loot.
