Ion Fury: Unlock The Secret Level With A Piano Code | ‘Grand Slam’ Guide

August 21, 2019 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Unlock ‘Grand Slam’ and become a baseball legend in Ion Fury with this old-school secret level unlock.

Ion Fury is a true old-school FPS marvel, and like those awesome games of old, there are secret levels to find. The first secret level we’ve found is in ‘Institutionalized’ — and it’s very, very well-hidden. It involves a piano and a specific tune located in the previous level. I’ll explain everything you need to know in the full guide below — complete with piano diagram for the musically disinclined.

Ion Fury is incredibly special for one reason; it’s entirely designed on the Build Engine. Yes, the same engine that powered old games like Duke Nukem 3D, Blood and Shadow Warrior. This is the first game created on the Build Engine in a very long time, and old-school FPS fanatics like us are still blown that a game like Ion Fury even exists.

Unlock The Secret Level With A Piano Code | ‘Grand Slam’ Guide

To unlock ‘Grand Slam‘, a level set in a Baseball Stadium, you’ll need to acquire a hidden Purple Keycard in ‘Institutionalized‘ — located at the end of the level.

At the end of ‘Institutionalized’, find the piano in Heskel’s Office where you fight the boss. After the fight, you can play the piano. By playing a specific melody, you’ll lower the floor to reveal a Purple Keycard.

Play DCA -> DCF on the piano. You’ll learn this melody from a computer terminal in the previous level — it’s the secret found tune! If you’re not familiar with pianos, here’s how it works.

Play the highlighted keys on the piano — DCA -> DCF. After playing the keys, the floor will lower and you can collect the Purple Keycard. Hit the self-destruct (the level won’t end here!) and follow the linear path. You’ll find the purple keycard door on the way out.

Unlock the door, and you’ll enter the secret level ‘Grand Slam’! There are only a handful of levels in Ion Fury, so any additional gameplay is 100% worth checking out. You won’t want to miss it.
