Destiny 2: Forsaken – Now There’s An Easier Way To Earn The Third Subclass | Seed of Light Guide

September 27, 2018 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Skip the ‘Last Wish’ raid and unlock the third DLC-exclusive Forsaken subclass with this alternate method, recently added to Destiny 2.

Destiny 2: Forsaken introduces three new subclasses for your Guardian to acquire — and the developers at Bungie promised that even low-level players can get all three subclasses. To unlock a subclass, you need to grab a ‘Seed of Light’ — a unique item that only drops from specific events. Previously, you have to play through the new story campaign to unlock one Seed of Light, which was totally easy. The tricky part was unlocking the other two.

The hardest Seed of Light was the third — you have to complete the first boss encounter in the Last Wish raid. That’s really difficult for players that aren’t interesting in gaining a lot of Power Level and joining a dedicated team.

Now there’s a new, alternative way to earn the third Seed of Light. It’s perfectly possible to do this solo too, but you will have to unlock the Dreaming City at the very least. Here’s the easier way to earn your third Forsaken subclass.

Easier Way To Earn The Third Subclass | Seed of Light Guide

The easier method was added just recently in a patch for Destiny 2: Forsaken. You no longer have to deal with the Last Wish raid to get all three subclasses — here’s what you need to do.

  • Talk to Petra Venj in The Strand and accept her bounty “Gateway Between Worlds“.
  • To complete the bounty, activate the Blind Well in the Dreaming City and complete waves.
  • When you’re done, talk to the Oracle in the Dreaming City to complete the bounty.
  • This week, when you present the offering to the Oracle, they’ll open a portal. Go through it!
  • On the other side, you’ll meet Mara Sov, the Queen of the Awoken. She’s back!
  • You’ll get a loot chest for meeting her. You’ll earn some random loot and a third Seed of Light.

And that’s it! Essentially, it’s only slightly more difficult than earning the second Seed of Light. You just need to complete Blind Well waves. Remember, you need different level offerings (which can be purchased from Petra Venj or found randomly) to activate the Blind Well with friends or other Guardians nearby.
