Fans of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be excited to explore a new interactive website based in the universe of the game. The website, Aug Aware, is an activist blog site that promises to ‘keep humanity pure’. The site contains references to the Deus Ex universe, mock news articles, propaganda images and even plays the “Purity First” trailer, initially used to market Deus Ex: Human Revolution back in 2011.
I’m not going to spoil too much about where Aug Aware can lead you, and what you might find there, but have a look around and soon enough you’ll come across more external sites such as the industrial megaproject Santeau Group and augmentation giant Sarif Industries, each bolstering more information, creating a clear image of the kind of world you can expect to experience when you finally get your hands on Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
One of the most impressive components of the viral marketing ploy by developer Eidos Montreal are the hidden audio logs and messages left by the hacker group “Purity First” on the Sarif Industries website. These series of logs elude to the return of the infamous character Lazarus, who can be heard preaching his conspiracies on the radio in Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
“Sarif has declared war on humanity, they manipulate you with their technology.”
Are you ready to delve into the world of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided before it’s release on August 23?
