We have a few bombshell rumors about Rockstar’s next games, which may seem a little too good to be true, if it was not for the other things we also know.
Budzcario on Twitter shared this statement:
“Nov 17th, 2023 release date
It’s going to rock the gaming world, surprise of the century. Believe . I know this is the release date for 100%. They’ve been feeding fake info to pissed of devs to weed out leaks in their own company.
The leaked gameplay in 2022 was from early 2020.
Red Dead Redemption 1 remastered is coming out later this year. It will be officially announced this August for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. RDR 1 remastered will release sometime in October or November.
GTA 6 is coming next year and Rockstar is looking to post a reveal trailer around November or December, possibly during this year’s Game Awards.”
We had been reporting on the possibility of a Red Dead Redemption Remaster for some time. In fact, our earliest report on this goes back to 2021.
If the rumor was easy to dismiss then, that immediately changed this June. This was when Red Dead Redemption received a new rating from the Korean video game rating agency. That agency also released a rating for the original Red Dead Redemption, so this was no mistake.
And then, we received a follow up from the 2021 source on this rumor. He explained that the game was not cancelled, but deliberately given more time in development. This was then followed by an official announcement in a Take Two financial meeting that they would be releasing two ‘new iterations of previously revealed titles’.
As for Grand Theft Auto 6, that rumor is certainly harder to believe, but not entirely baseless either. While there have been tons of rumors and speculation that the game has had development troubles, is getting delayed, or was harmed by the 2022 hack, Rockstar went on record to state that their development was not affected by the hack at all.
This means that the poor looking build that people did piece together from the Grand Theft Auto 6 hack likely did not accurately represent the state that the game was. The hacker may have gotten their hands on what was an earlier build of the game, and had no idea.
Rockstar certainly has had more than enough time to produce the game, including extending development to make sure whatever launch issues could exist could be averted.
If a remastered Red Dead Redemption really is coming later this year, it would cap off 2023 as one of the greatest years in the industry in terms of high profile video game releases. We don’t know if it’s true, but we certainly would like to believe so.
