Hogwarts Legacy continues to ramp up anticipation and hype by the fan base. However, we still have to endure a slight wait before we can actually get our hands on the title. With that said, there’s a new preview video footage on the title, which comes from IGN. This publication recently had a chance to sit down and play a couple of hours of the game and is offering their initial impressions of the gameplay experience. Check out the footage in the video we have embedded above.
If you haven’t been keeping up tabs on Hogwarts Legacy, the game is set well before the events of Harry Potter. This narrative takes place during the late 1800s, where players are stepping into the role of a late accepted entry to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Players will find that their customized protagonist holds the potential answers to ancient magic. As a result, they are permitted to enter the school as a fifth-year student. Being a fan of the franchise, you’ll likely find plenty of opportunities to explore the iconic school grounds and nearby surrounding areas. Since this is an open-world experience, you’ll likely be encouraged to venture around to see what all the developers had tucked away in this game.
With the developers gearing up for the release of Hogwarts Legacy, marketing has continued to press on. We’ve seen a few showcases that highlight a few areas of the game, such as the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, along with mythical creatures. Meanwhile, there have been a few notable tweets shared by the official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter account. It’s all an effort to get players excited for the upcoming title, which seems to be working from the pre-order stats alone.
For now, Hogwarts Legacy is slated to release next month. As long as there are no unexpected delays, we’ll see the game launch on February 10, 2023. When the game does release into the marketplace, you’ll find it available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms. Although we also know that the game will be launching on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch platforms later on in the year. While we wait for the remaining weeks to pass before the game officially launches, check out IGN’s final preview of the game within the video we have embedded above.
