Hogwarts Legacy was easily an anticipated video game title upon its reveal. Players couldn’t wait to get into this universe and start their own journey as a wizard. But, of course, there has been some controversy in the background regarding the IP. Despite that, there is still an incredibly strong following for the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy, and it could become one of the biggest releases this year. Today, we’re finding out about some interesting stats leading into the game’s upcoming launch.
We’re just starting 2023 and this year looks to be quite filled with video game releases. One of the early launches of this year is also Hogwarts Legacy. The game will launch this February 10, 2023, but only for PC and the latest-generation console platforms. Today, we’re learning of an analyst, Benji-Sales, who covers different aspects of the video game industry regarding sales and social metrics. In a recent tweet, the video game industry analyst offered players a look into some impressive stats that Hogwarts Legacy managed to pull off as it heads into its upcoming marketplace launch.
According to Benji-Sales, Hogwarts Legacy has already earned the most wishlisted game on the Steam digital marketplace. Pre-orders have reached the top four selling games on the digital marketplace already. While we don’t have specific numbers on the console platform, Benji-Sales noted that they have already heard some good things about console pre-orders. Of course, we’ll have to wait for the game to actually launch into the marketplace before we’re able to get a breakdown in terms of sales.
If you haven’t been keeping tabs on Hogwarts Legacy, this game is set prior to the events of Harry Potter. Players are taking the role of a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You’ll encounter other students with quests, attend classes, learn how to cast spells, and likely face some truly evil wizards and beasts along the way. Again, while this game is launching for PC and the latest-generation platforms this February, last-generation platforms will also have access to this game. Unfortunately, those on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will have to wait a bit longer as Hogwarts Legacy won’t be available until April 4, 2023. Meanwhile, Nintendo Switch owners will have an even longer wait as it’s set to release on July 25, 2023.
