Stardew Valley Multiplayer Beta Confirmed for Spring

Feb 17, 2018 Katrina Filippidis

You can cut all the Summer Spangles, but you can't keep Spring from coming.

Stardew Valley developer ConcernedApe has locked in a release schedule for the beta of the game’s multiplayer mode. In a blog update, he revealed work on the newest features is complete, and that the team’s attention is now turned towards fixing bugs.

An intensive QA period testing the features in both single-player and multiplayer modes will precede the official multiplayer launch — which is expected this Spring (the original launch was delayed to ensure the multiplayer receives adequate “polish and QA”). We’ll also see the introduction of brand new content, most of which is presently unannounced except for ‘signs’, special crafting items that are unlocked from the beginning of the game.

Stardew Valley is an indie success story, moving from its native PC to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and more recently, Nintendo Switch. In our review, we called it a “super immersive, deep farming simulator” that demands a big time investment from the player.
