Players have permanently unlocked a method to save whenever you want in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and you don’t need to cheat with the developer console to do it. At least, you don’t need to do it directly. It sounds complicated, but it’s actually extremely easy and removes one of the biggest limitations in Kingdom Come. Now you can remove the Saviour Schnapps requirement when saving without cheating and without using mods.

In this game, saving requires using a rare item called Saviour Schnapps. You can craft your own with an alchemy bench using items you can collect in the world, but these items are surprisingly rare. The only common way to find the items you need is to buy them, and even then, you’ll need to craft them from the complicated, tricky Alchemy Bench interface — making new Saviour Schnapps is a lot of work, and even then, you’ll be severely limited in your number of save files. If you want to remove the limitation entirely, here’s what you need to do.

How To Save Without Saviour Schnapps

To save without using Saviour Schnapps, you’ll need to input a string of code into the launch options through Steam. This can be done on any platform, but we’re going to explain how this works through your Steam Library as an example.

  • On your Steam Library, right-click on the title and select Properties from the menu that appears.
  • Next, go to General -> Launch Options and open the text input field.
  • Put the following code in the field: “-devmode +wh_sys_NoSavePotion=1” [BOLD ONLY! No quotation marks.]

This method was shared by Uzdo and mamapower on Steam. We didn’t discover this — so all credit goes to the community for sharing this incredibly useful information.

  • NOTE: This method DOES NOT disable achievements. It is not considered cheating. It does enable the Developer Console, but it is not required to use. You must launch through Steam for the effect to work.

We’ve talked about saving your game before — you can simply Save & Exit or use an owned bed to save as many times as you want, but both methods are extremely inconvenient. The only way to save normally, by pausing and selecting the Save option which makes a permanent save, is to use a Saviour Schnapps. These items are rare enough that getting a large supply takes a lot of grinding, and even if you had a lot, you wouldn’t want to use them freely because you may need a Saviour Schnapps in the future. By following the method here, you can completely bypass using Saviour Schnapps at all.

More Launch Commands

You can add more launch commands for additional effects. You can launch with bonus effects like additional lockpick durability, always scoring 1-hit kills, or enabling a cursor when using a bow or crossbow.

To add an additional launch command code, put a space between the previous code, then add + to the start of the command. Here are some useful codes you can use.

  • Kill All Enemies In 1 Hit: +wh_rpg_OneShotKill=1
  • Remove Crime Bounty: +cheat_set_wanted_level=0
  • Bow & Crossbow Reticule: +wh_pl_showfirecursor=1
  • Disables Shaking When Lockpicking: +wh_pl_LockPickingShakeOverride=0
