Curios are the accessories of Black Myth: Wukong — you can equip up to five of these items by the end of the game, and you’ll unlock more slots as you progress. Curios give small bonuses to your Monkey King and some of them are absolutely invaluable. You can miss them all, so we’re going to share the curios we think are better than the rest.
There are a few Curios we left off this list. Curios for farming — the Gold Carp and the Goldflora Hairpin have separate guides getting into more detail where to find them. Check out our Black Myth: Wukong item farming guide, or our best Will farm locations guide.
Best Curios & Where To Find Them
Curios are trinkets that can be equipped to a special slot — you’ll unlock more slots as you progress. Curios provide passive bonuses to your character when equipped, and the effects will stack with armor or other bonuses.
Tiger Tally: Boosts attack damage for a short duration after a successful series of light attack hits. You’ll be using light attack combos so often, this curio is always useful.
- Location: The Tiger Tally curio is dropped by the Tiger Vanguard boss in Chapter 2. You’ll find him at the Crouching Tiger Temple. This boss is required so you can’t miss this curio.
Beast Buddha: Increases Critical Hit damage. Boosting critical hits is surprisingly affective — anything that takes down bosses slightly faster will help.
- Location: This curio is dropped by the Dual-Blade Monk boss in Chapter 3. This is an optional boss in the Valley of Ecstasy area, near the Towers of Karma shrine.
Amber Prayer Beads: Boosts the speed you’ll earn Focus. The more Focus you earn, the more you can unleash your powerful attacks. Incredibly useful.
- Location: At the Woods of Ember area of Chapter 5, defeat the Father-of-Stones boss. Enter the cave past the boss and take the right path.
Gold Spikeplate: Boosts defense and causes enemies to take a small amount of damage when you’re hit. Another basic, simple curio — you take less damage and dealing a tiny bit of damage back to enemies is just a bonus.
- Location: In Chapter 3, reach the Longevity Road shrine and look for a giant enemy monk at a large field of snow. This is also where you’ll find one of the Captains — already dead. Defeat the giant monk enemy to earn this curio.
Agate Jar: Increases defense. Another very simply curio that is found much earlier in the game than the Gold Spikeplate.
- Location: Defeat the Black Wind King in Chapter 1 and check the crates nearby.
Celestial Birthstone Fragment: One of the few Legendary Curios. This ignores enemy resistances to all four elements — so you can add elemental damage to your staff and still deal high damage to any enemy.
- Location: Only available in Chapter 6. Ride the cloud to the far east area of the valley — past the Gold Rhino arena — and to an arena for another frog boss. Defeat the Ling-Baw-Baw boss to earn this item.
And those are our favorite Curios! The only other good curios provide bonuses to your resistance when fighting bosses that deal high wind, flame, or whatever other elemental damage they have. Those are very useful, but they’re only good for very specific fights. These curios are useful all the time. Equip them to your character and never turn back.
