Traversing the Underworld in Hades 2 will lead to all kinds of encounters. Some of these are friendly, others not so much, and occasionally you will bump into some flora. Picking stuff up and putting it in your pack is a key mechanic in Hades 2, and if you want to progress smoothly, you better get used to it.
The deeper you delve, the rarer the resource. Lotus is one of the more common resources existing in one of the earlier areas. In this guide, we are going to go over where to find it and how to use it.
Note: Do be aware that Hades 2 is still in Early Access, so anything and everything is subject to change.

Where To Find Lotus In Hades 2
Lotus is one of the more common resources in Hades 2, although it’s not as common as the universally useful (and bountiful) plants you will find in Erebus. You can find this plant in Oceanus, which is the second region in the game, and one of the larger difficulty spikes for newer players. Due to how early Oceanus appears in a standard run, you should expect to have a pretty hefty stockpile.
Like with most resources, you will not find Lotus anywhere else – it is exclusive to Oceanus. If you want more, you are forced to dive into a run, beat Hecate, and explore the depths of the ocean. This also means you can’t buy Lotus from Charon and the Wretched Broker won’t trade you Lotus for Bones.
Being a wild plant, Lotus doesn’t require any additional tools to gather. If you manage to find Lotus during a run, simply run up and interact with it. You will get a single Lotus per plant you find, and you can expect to find 2/3 plants per run if you keep your eyes peeled.
To make finding Lotus easier, we recommend using the Reagent Sensing Incantation. This spawns a silver light that will guide you to any resources in a room. If there is combat in that room, you will need to clear it before the light will spawn. Once you have this Incantation, you should never miss another resource again.
The biggest downside to these kinds of resources, however, is that there is no way to increase their yield. Nor is there a way to increase the odds of it spawning during a run.
What Is Lotus Used For In Hades 2
Lotus, being a fairly common resource, is used in all kinds of things. Firstly, you need Lotus to unlock the Aspect Of Circe for the Witch’s Staff. Secondly, it is used in a bunch of Incantations. These range from fairly minor, like improving healing fountains, to major like forestalling your death when on the surface.
Because so many Incantations require Lotus (sometimes in large quantities) you should always be on the lookout. This resource is useful throughout a playthrough, so don’t sleep on it just because you progressed beyond Scylla’s abode.
Like with Moly, the Wretched Broker is not interested in buying it from you. This prevents you from accidentally selling on the most important resources in the game.
