Starfield has been out for a while now, but that doesn’t mean Bethesda is done with the game. In fact, whilst Starfield is by far Bethesda’s most stable game, it isn’t perfect and some things need ironing out. This is where patches come in, and on October 9 2023, Bethesda dropped Patch 1.7.36.
Unfortunately, this patch is rather small and doesn’t address all the minor niggles that haunt Starfield, but it does add some quality-of-life features and tweaks other areas, such as performance. Let’s have a quick gander at what the patch brings and what it means for the future of Starfield.

Patch 1.7.36 Notes
General
- FOV: Sliders are now available in Settings that allow players using first person or third person to adjust their FOV.
Performance & Stability
- [PC ONLY] Improved stability for Intel Arc GPUs.
- Various additional stability and performance improvements.
Quest
- Echoes of the Past: Addressed an issue where tunnelling creatures could pick a location that would prevent progression.
Overall the patch is a step in the right direction. Including more options when it comes to customising your FOV is always nice to see, and improving performance and stability allows players to enjoy Starfield without being on the receiving end of technical annoyance.
Finally, fixing Echoes Of The Past means more players can complete the quest without having to load previous saves or downright abandon them. There are reports of other quests that have been prone to breaking, and we expect these to be addressed in due course.
That’s all we have on Starfield for now. Be sure to check out our other guides, lists, and walkthroughs for more Starfield content.
