BattleBit Remastered has been the surprise success of 2023. It came from obscurity and then blew a hole in Early Access. This is, in part, thanks to it being a genuinely excellent, easy-to-run, fully functioning large-scale Battlefield-esque FPS. With more content on the way, the game is looking to continue its already positive trend.
Despite all the rainbows and sunshine, however, there are some things that BattleBit Remastered has fumbled. These are far from being game-breakers when taken in isolation, but could be a pain to deal with when combined. Let’s talk about what we want fixed sooner rather than later.

Way Too Many Cheaters
This is one of the more contentious issues flying around as of writing. The community is split, with some saying there are no cheaters, and others lashing out at all the cheaters. Basically, the former are the cheaters the latter are complaining about and everyone is constantly butting heads as a result.
Of course, not all deaths come from cheating and there are a lot of unskilled newbies getting slaughtered by veteran players. That being said, it’s not hard to find nefarious aim-bot-worshipping cabals, and these guys ruin the game for everyone. Sadly, there isn’t much of a solution for this because…
Invasive Anti-Cheat Software Incoming
BattleBit Remastered uses Anti-Cheat like most online games. It currently runs with Easy Anti-Cheat which is ‘fine’, but is clearly not working. What’s concerning is the switch to FACEIT, a far more robust Anti-Cheat software that should help curb the conmen who infest the game right now.
Here’s the rub though – FACEIT is very intrusive. The software was used during the BattleBit beta, and people were not happy. This thing is always on and can theoretically twock your data even when you are not playing the game in question. We wouldn’t openly call it malware, but it certainly shares an awful lot of similarities.
No Tutorial
Let’s move away from the drama of crappy software and players and instead talk about accessibility. BattleBit Remastered throws you into the thick of it from the word go. Outside of a weapons range, you are on your own. This makes the game very hard to grasp for new players – you know, the lifeblood of any online game.
BattleBit Remastered needs to address this and have literally anything in place so newbies can cut their teeth and learn the basics. This would not only improve the onboarding process but also improve the overall quality of the player base from the get-go. Better players, better games. Easy peasy.
Weapon Progression Is Too Slow
Weapons in BattleBit Remastered are unlocked by levelling up your account. Just about everything you do grants EXP. Gather enough and you will earn yourself a juicy promotion. Unfortunately, progression is painfully slow, making the system far more tedious than it should be.
Not only does it take a long time to level up, but not all promotions lead to weapons. This means you could be playing for hours on end and still be stuck with the most basic of weapons. When you are being obliterated from across the street by a player with a disturbingly accurate SMG, it feels bad when you are stuck grunting it out with a horribly unreliable AK or M4.
Visibility Is A Constant Battle
Battlefields in BattleBit Remastered are rather large which helps to accommodate the staggering number of players per lobby. The game also has a wonderful low-poly style that we can’t get enough of. The issue? It’s hard to see anything because the palette is so stale.
Everything is a nasty shade of brown, grey, or brownish-grey (if you are lucky), and this makes every blend together. This makes seeing things far harder than it should be. We aren’t asking for flashing beacons and outlines, but we would like to see more variation in colour and lighting.
That’s all we have on Battlebit for now. Be sure to check out our other lists and guides for more content.
