BattleBit Remastered – How To Create Bomb Drones | Guide

July 19, 2023 by Adam Carr

You can get really creative in BattleBit Remastered, but slapping bombs to drones is easily one of the most inventive ways to play Recon.

BattleBit Remastered loves to reward creative players with buckets of kills. We’ve already looked at the wonders of Claymore spamming, what if we told you there are far more inventive ways to cause mass destruction? Well, there is, it’s called: Drone Bombing. Is it awesome? Yes. Is it possible to do it right away? No (sadly).

This guide is going to walk you through how to make a Bomb Drone, the best kinds of Bomb Drones, and why these little devices are so darn good. We will also cover the weaknesses of the tactic so you can round out your knowledge a smidge. Hop on to Recon and let’s get blasty.

How To Make A Bomb Drone

Bomb Drones don’t actually exist in the game. Players have to create them by attaching explosives to Air Drones. The catch here is that Air Drones, unlike bombs, are heavily level gated. In fact, only Recons can use them, and only if you are Level 30. Considering how slow it can be to progress in BattleBit Remastered, this can take a while.

Assuming you have reached that level, however, to make a Bomb Drone all you have to do is spawn an Air Drone and then attach some form of explosive to it. From here, fly your Drone towards enemies and watch the fireworks. Do it correctly, and you will rack up a bunch of kills without exposing yourself to enemy fire.

Some things to note when making a Bomb Drone:

  • More explosives do not increase the blast radius
  • More explosives do impact handling and weight
  • Not all explosives are made equal

Anti-Personnel Drone

These are our personal favourite as it is easy to deploy, does a lot of damage, and explodes without any additional steps. This Air Drone requires the Anti-Personnel Mine. Attach it and then fly it towards enemies, The mine will trigger once someone is in close proximity, causing massive damage (if not death). The radius is impressively large, so you could land multiple kills at once.

The downsides are that these mines don’t do anything to vehicles and barely scratch buildings and fortifications. These are only good for blowing up people, so bear that in mind.

Anti-Tank Drone

This one is great, but you can’t make it yourself. You need a partner, which means you need to have a friend to communicate with. You get an Engineer to plonk an Anti-Tank Mine to your Air Drone then fly it at the nearest vehicle. This will cause catastrophic damage to anything it hits.

As good as these are, it’s just not reliable enough since you need more than just your kit to pull it off. It’s a fun novelty.

C4 Bomb Drone

When you want to get a bit weird, the C4 Drone is your go-to. This Drone is a bit more awkward to use since you need to trigger the C4. This means using it to get kills is much harder. The upside is that C4 is very effective at blowing holes in walls. You can use this Drone to destroy an entrenched position very easily, allowing your team to mop up during the aftermath.

Claymore Drone

This is probably the worst of the bunch. Whilst Claymores are excellent gadgets that can be used to great effect, they don’t work well on Drones. This is because the wiring that deploys with a Claymore isn’t effective when mounted to a Drone. This means you need to trigger the explosive manually – usually by shooting it.

This is far too much effort for far too little reward. Stick with mines.

Downsides To Bomb Drones

There are a lot of downsides to using Bomb Drones to offset their power. Firstly, Air Drones are really squishy. A light breeze can take them out, and since you only have a finite supply of Drones and explosives, you might run dry before you can even get a bomb off.

Not only that, Drones are pretty darn easy to spot. They are fairly large and come with a very clear audio cue. This method of demolition is not subtle, and people will spot your Drone if you aren’t careful.

Finally, since you are distracted by your drone, you can’t be messing around in a firefight. This means you should be away from conflict to ensure you don’t catch a stray bullet. This also means you are not contributing to any objectives, which is never a good thing. Bomb Drones are incredibly selfish as a result, and if you can’t land them reliably, they are incredibly ineffective to boot.

That’s all we have on Battlebit for now. Be sure to check out our other lists and guides for more content.
